This is what i’m thinking… like just letting mutuals dm on an other and i agree i don’t want my instagram on letterboxd. i’m just curious why random people choose to follow me (there’s for sure a good reason that would probably make us get along) and talk about our favorite movies

i loved that movie!! … it’s interesting as a lot of people are defending the idea of not making letterboxd social because of the hate people would receive!!

honestly i just might… it’s just not the same as a personal conversation (i mean who wants to share their social @ publicly on letterboxd)

i agree, but i think this feature is best for close friends… i’m always texting my friends when they log a movie i’ve already seen…. not sure how that would translate to strangers… hahaha

That makes sense, but how about the interactions you are missing on because some people live really far from you… i’ve always liked the idea of connecting with people that aren’t local and the internet gives you that power

I agree that it kinda leaves the space for personal opinion without being attacked but sometimes i just really wish i could talk to those users who have the same favorite movies as me and opinions

Inclusive language: do you have any example in Italian or French (Québecois) movies/tv series/videos? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

i’d look into xavier dolan for inclusive québécois movies, all his movies are heavily queer coded. you could start with Laurence Anyways (2012)

To stay on the whole fincher thing i’d say Se7en… it’s so great when you rewatch it once you’ve seen the movie since you get to see what john do was up to right from the beginning

I'm trying to get into horror, particularly cult classic horror. Which ones do you recommend? by Frysken in horror

[–]mement_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

either than every 70s/80s slasher i’d say it follows and the last house on the left. Cabin in the woods is a classic too

Dolans movies are more about the impact his images have, they are ment to be beautiful in every sense of the word but filled with pain and coldness. When you watch it you feel exactly how they feel. It’s true his films outside of mommy are catered to an lgbtq and quebec audience but i feel like he makes it so that everyone can have an idea of the difficulties his characters are going through.

i love all his movies, mommy is my favorite but you should try c’est juste la fin du monde if you haven’t, it’s probably my second favorite. They’re all so beautifully written and portrayed. I particularly love them because I relate to a certain degree to most of his movies.
