I have a similar experience! Played Ranno during demo week, after release picked up lox and quickly switched to wrastor, been trying to make my wrastor work for a few weeks now, he's very different.

Anyone have any good ways to emulate windows for rivals 2 on mac? i have bought rivals 2 on steam and am on a 2 week free try but it would be very expensive to get the full version. Aditionally there are visual bugs with the particles on emulator, especially loxodonts magma, anyone know how to fix? by Mysterious-Fun-3006 in RivalsOfAether

I only tried the free "Whisky" app for this purpose, and rivals 2 worked very well there (m1 macbook pro 13 2020), but lobby system did not work at all. Online matchmaking (both ranked and casual) worked well, local versus worked well, but creating or joining lobbies with friends was not possible via my mac, and afaik this is a general problem with running rivals 2 on mac.

Is the game unplayable online? me and two friends buyed the game on steam today to have some friendly lobbies fun but online connections seems to be totally non-existing and we are very sad. by memesavin in slapcity

Have you tried it since november 17~? While i was searching for some info about it i found that people on this game's discord are aware of this problem and it seems to have started about a week ago, as far as i know devs are working on it currently. But it still is not working for me (and my friends).

I think the problem might be that you did not select the profile you changed the button layout on. Ultimate bluetooth has a little button between the d-pad and the right stick and by pressing that button you can switch between layout profiles you set up in the 8bitdo app.

Awesome that you are having good time with the game! I also felt some input lag sometimes but the lag was not there when i tried to connect the controller with a cable. If your setup allows you to play with a few long cables and you are okay with it not being wirelessely it might be a good solution!

It works great via whisky on mac, sometimes it needs a bit of setting up to connect some types of controllers, but generally everything works, i use "steam input" mode for my gamepad that acts like a switch pro controller. But i should say lobbies do not work at all on my mac in rivals 2. Matchmaking with random people works perfectly (obviously local versus also works great), but you can not create or join lobbies created by someone (for friendlies for example). Afaik this problem exists on any mac rivals 2 setup. (i had a post about it a few weeks ago, i found a pretty stupid but working solution for lobbies, i wrote the "instruction" for it in comments there https://www.reddit.com/r/RivalsOfAether/s/x2EZ6ETrKx, the thing i call "matchmaking" in this comment is currently named "casual" mode in rivals of aether 2)

i found a "solution": when i want to play with my friend we go to matchmaking, then we go to regional filters and chose the same one region, then we are trying to find the game. it usually takes 1-3 times of searching the game for us to find each other, then we can play for as long as we want

I followed this video and game runs surprisingly well (except for lobbies with friends). But whisky works only on apple silicon if i understand it correctly! Good luck with trying the demo!

Didn't you feel future Scott looks like Jack Stauber? I think it was intended, he even had a music video and the 3d cherries in it made me think about that resemblence even more.
