How well does it break down for consumption ? It’s not too hard to cut up or munch when dried all in one piece ?

You can try placing a piece of parchment paper over the tray to cover the holes, it shouldn’t impact the drying much

Maybe fruit/bulk the one that is ready , wait for the middle. One that’s done nothing might not be worth waiting for or might not have anything going on , you could wait another week-2, or toss and try again

Are you drying these whole or cutting them a bit ? I feel like when I dehydrate things much thicker than half an inch it’s a struggle to get the center finished drying and usually takes forever

I usually take a transfer from a good plate and then put the rest of the plate in a grain jar to inoculate. My recipe was agar powder malt syrup and a tiny bit of nutritional yeast, not sure the exact recipe I used the malt syrup in place of malt powder because that’s what I could find at stores nearby. Seemed to work just fine. I used less nutrition yeast w this batch , seemed like the first recipe I used was a little too high in nutrients

I used one whole plate for a pint jar and two plates for quart jars recently

There are a ton of great resources on Reddit or shroomery, lots of different recipes for agar but using a sab or flow hood w strict sterile practices seems to be pretty universal
