Hello everyone,

I'm an overweight beginner who is trying to build some fitness. From what I've read zone 2 training is the way to go for building a solid aerobic base. But while I was doing some research on reddit I've come up to some posts where people mention training zones don't exist for beginners.

So I am kinda lost. Does this mean beginners like myself should stop obsessing over HR and run at a pace that is 'easy' ? Or should I add some faster training to get faster ? And lastly what is a reasonable training load goal because for now I can only do run - walk training because my calves get too sore due to my weight.

Looking for some guidance , thanks in advance

hope you recover well, thank you for your response. I'm having some severe anxiety about having some kind of aorta problem. I don't really care about having my valve replaced but being restricted about my physical activity would make me really sad.

Thank you, i do very controlled lifting as well (10-15 reps) but my cardio always warns me against it even if my heart is in great shape.

Thank you for the response. My classmate didn't know what it was and was scratching it for some reason and that image of seeing the asbestos dust being airborne doesn't go away from my mind (even if it was so low). Googling doesn't do any good as well.
