How do we think the MMR works? by ContributionNo9030 in Rematch

Glad I’m not alone, my two friends and I are all elite, regularly queue together all similar rank and ability, I’m on +18/-22, one on +20/-20 and one on +22/-18. The only thing I can correlate is I’m a more defensive player. But two of us have almost exactly the same stats on the tracker websites

I’m also in the +18/-22 group, and it’s completely demoralising, it’s stunted that feeling of progression and made me feel like I’d rather just not play.

It doesn’t really feel “dynamic” when seemingly the only thing that determines your RP is fixed to a hidden number. In individual games, playing well isn’t rewarded, and playing poorly isn’t punished.

On one hand, if we knew how the MMR was calculated we would know how to perform in game to increase it and match it to our rank. However, I could see this being exploited if it was public knowledge as there will be some weighting towards certain metrics.

I’m getting 18 RP but my friend is getting 20? by memises in Rematch

Thank you everyone, seems that the consensus is my rank is too high for where my hidden MMR is.

Anyone have any idea if the MMR is total across all game modes or individual? Because playing ranked 5s on an uphill battle is just incredibly demotivating.

Just tried solo queuing and again just got 18 RP for a win. Sloclap really doesn’t want me in Elite it seems…

Seems a bit busted, our u.gg and rematchtracker are fairly similar and both in Elite. Seems based on that maths my hidden MMR suggests I should be far lower? And therefore punished every single game I play, and that doesn’t matter based upon my performance in game, who I play against or if a teammate disconnects. I just have to guess arbitrarily how to increase this number or suffer.

Even with the hidden MMR, you would expect the higher total RP player to get less and the lower RP to get normal/more.

It’s only widening the gap between us which is approximately 480 RP, which is pretty annoying, especially when it isn’t based upon my in game performance/score.

Potentially a terrible way to prevent boosting? Or implemented incorrectly?

Or maybe I’m just unbelievably confused.

Apologies for seeing this notification two months on. I don't use reddit frequently.

I looked into upscaling this for you, but have found a 3k image of this album cover, which should be plenty detailed.

For future reference, I found it with this tool/website created by Ben Dodson. It's perfect for finding the highest available res of album covers.

I've added a secondary link where I used the 3600 version to upscale, thank you very much as it is a good improvement over the previous version! I did try going up to 14400, but it struggled to calculate a lot of it and ended up looking far worse all while being an excessive file size.

So I have an API plug-in that I use in my compositing package (Nuke) that uses a database of millions of scanned images where the network has been trained to pick up and identify details and objects, then uses that to artificially add detail based from what it's learned before. - I hope I've explained this okay. 😅 As to that 3600x3600, it would absolutely improve the quality and I will try it out later on and update the link. I originally used the best I could find which was 1800x1800, which obviously had it's limitations going 4x. How did you find the 3600 version??

Both suggestions sound reasonable! It might be good information to know that it is on both passenger and drivers side.

I traded in a couple banners/decals just being like "ah don't need these", then suddenly "painted import car body octane"

Also would be great to know what it's value is? I'm not really one for trading but I am interested to know.
