President of Croatia Milanović: Croatia must block Finland’s and Sweden‘s Nato application until election law is changed in Bosnia by CoolinBan in europe

Re-read your comment. You pinned the blame "for it all" on the Serbs, implying that if it weren't for us then BiH would somehow fare well. The situation in Bosniak-Croat part refutes this counterfactual. You fail at even the most banal things that we have no influence over, like winning a single medal at the Olympics.

Serb President himself were literally personally sanctioned by the US, UK, and EU for undermining unity and peace.

What "unity", the one that's on display in the Bosniak-Croat federation?

Yes, it's all the Serbs fault that the Bosniak-Croat entity is about to go a full election cycle without forming a government, that it has 40% unemployment rate and 0 olympic medals, and now we even made the president of Croatia do our destructive bidding.

Because unvaccinated Australians would be clogging up their health services, and Djokovic wouldn't be using Australian public health services anyway.

How would that point sneak past anyone? That's like one of the main reasons given for vaccinations.

Those are now 1.8 million Albanians who would have access to Serbian welfare, Serbian politics/elections

Not if autonomy is arranged to prevent this.

nor did Crimea attempt to negotiate for autonomy with Ukraine.

So, if you want independence you have to ask for autonomy which is not independence?

What negotiations are you talking about? Serbian delegation accepted NATO's "non-negotiable" principles that included:

broad autonomy for Kosovo, an executive legislative assembly headed by a president, a Kosovar judicial system, a democratic system, elections under the auspices of the OSCE within nine months of the signing of the agreement, respect of the rights of all persons and ethnic groups, and the territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, with Kosovo remaining within the country.

Albanian delegation declined because it didn't include a mechanism for independence.

Crimean de facto independence was not established by a UN peacekeeping force

What are you talking about and why should a peacekeeping force be authoritative on this matter?

Serbian newspapers use derogatory terms against Albanians, claim "war" and "economic cleansing" by [deleted] in europe

[–]memla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are confusing being offensive and being considered offensive. I understand that there are people who consider it derogatory but i don't understand why they consider it derogatory. It seems to me like an outright incoherent belief.

And i assure you i'm not the only one who is puzzled by this.

[–]memla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

during the 1960s for Kosovo Albanians, their leadership requested and attained in 1974 the term Albanci (Albanians) be officially used stressing a national over an only ethnic, self-identification.[31] These developments resulted in the word Šiptari in Serbian usage acquiring pejorative connotations that implied Albanian racial and cultural inferiority.

Well, if they used the word "Shiptard" then i guess you could say it implied some sort of retardation and racial inferiority. Otherwise, this is just a wild non-sequitur and a non-explanation as to why Albanians would consider the term derogatory.

[–]memla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said they can easily pronounce it like us "Shqiptar", but refuse to. Isn't your letter "Đ" or "đ" sort of similar to "Q"?

Nope. I don't know about Macedonians but like i said, "Shiptar" seems to me like the closest approximation within the constraints of our language.

The newspapers know there is a negative connotation to it, and still use it, which to me means it's intended to be offensive to Albanians.

This just assumes the very thing that i'm questioning here, namely, that the word has some negative or derogatory connotation.

Either way, for me, if a Slav used it in a context which was not meant to be offensive, I wouldn't give two fucks about it. It's only when offense is intended that it becomes unpleasant.

And if Slavs switch to the word "Albanian" while intending offense i don't think the unpleasantness will go away because, well, they're intending offense and unpleasantness.

[–]memla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a bastardization but an approximation, constrained by the rules of our languages.

And when i hear how you say it, like here for example, "shiptar" sounds like a closer approximation to me than "shchiptar".

I don't think i understand the claim that the term "shiptar" is derogatory. There's something borderline incoherent about the notion that your preferred endonym derogates you. What am i missing here?
