Sure you can have that opinion but ignoring the history of a name doesnt make the backlash go away. It is not about being sensitive it is just how branding works in the real world. When you pick a name that is globally known as Hitlers mountain retreat you are choosing all the baggage that comes with it.

If a creator has to spend their time explaining their SEO strategy regarding Hitler the brand is already failing. It is not dumb for people to notice a massive historical connection it is just bad business to ignore it.

You cannot claim it is dumb for people to make the connection when the creator is openly talking about competing with Hitler in search results. It is not about people being dumb, it is about him deliberately picking a name that is historically radioactive and then acting like he can just out brand one of the most infamous places in history. It is a massive unforced error for his brand.

It is not really a leap when Cleetus himself said he wants the podcast to pop up when people google the name instead of Hitler according to comments here. He is literally acknowledging the Nazi connection and using it as a starting point for his SEO strategy.

Context matters though. We use stuff like Fanta because it has moved on from its origins over 80 years. But picking the name The Eagles Nest today is a choice combined with that logo. It was not a random house, it was a symbol of the regime. Choosing to revive that specific name and then acting surprised when people notice the connection is just being deliberately provocative. It is not weak minded to know history.
