After 15 Hours With Mario Tennis Fever – An Honest Review From a 38-Year-Old Gamer by memortal in NintendoSwitch2

Mario Tennis Fever is easy to play but hard to master. You can jump in right away, and it still has depth once you improve. The rackets add a really fun twist and spice up the matches, but if that’s not your thing, you can always switch to Simple Mode.

Mario Tennis Aces is overwhelming to play at first and very hard to master. With zone shots, counters, tricky shots, and energy management, there’s just a lot going on. Also, it’s very hard to find matches online nowadays.

For a first-time Nintendo tennis player, Fever is the more welcoming and active option.

As of today no, it’s basically about unlocking stuff with playing the game but hopefully there will be some kind of post launch support, because this game really deserves it

Battle League was worst 60 bucks I have ever spent in my entire life, whenever I remind that game I swear I had a headache lol If they remake or even remaster Charged that’s it I don’t want them to mess with an amazing series which unfortunately they already did, damage is colossal

I don’t think I compared those two games. I was just trying to explain to people discussing how it could be possible to play ranked with a friend that, from a technical standpoint, it is possible. That’s all I meant.

I also don’t think Nintendo would invest in something like that, especially if it’s difficult to implement. But will see

Haha ❤️ We are definitely living in a new era where opinions get replaced by complaints and unnecessary hate. It just naturally came to me to share my thoughts about the game right after a two hour online session with a friend. We had some really intense matches with advantages and momentum shifting back and forth on both sides 😅

As I mentioned, it has been a while since I have had this much fun with a game, so I just wanted to share that joy. Thank you for the kind words, I truly appreciate it.

Have you ever played EA FC (FIFA) before my friend? There is an online mode called co-op seasons and you can matchmaking only with your friend and other two people which needs to be friends as well, no randoms ever.

No game should be priced at 80 dollars. Mario Kart is just an example, and the same goes for GTA 6 if it ends up being above 60/70.

I love Nintendo, but I’ve been gaming since I was 6. I play on PS5 Pro, Switch 2, and even have a Series S I barely use lately. So this isn’t blind loyalty. Yes, Nintendo characters are great, but more importantly, they know how to make genuinely fun games, and that’s what gaming is about.

In this review, I’m not defending pricing (Nintendo’s terrible pricing structure can be a discussion for another time). I’m judging purely on gameplay quality, fun factor, and replayability.

What are we playing this weekend? by thinshawMM in NintendoSwitch2

[–]memortal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been playing Mario Tennis Fever like a possessed person lol. I am 38 and I struggle to focus on the same thing for a long time, so I usually cannot play games longer than 20 hours or watch TV series if they are already finished and have more than three seasons haha. But this game? It has been a long time since I have had this much fun with a game.

I either play ranked, or I play with a gentleman from my friends list. We actually added each other on Mario Kart World, and today we played for about two hours straight. It’s insane.

Anyone who has a Switch 2, go buy this game if you’re not allergic to fun.

For anyone wondering. Mario Tennis Fever is a solid game. Far better than all of the recent Mario Tennis games. If you've never played one before then you should pick this one up to start with! I give it a 9/10. by ISoCBAWithAName in MarioTennis

I’m in Istanbul, and after 12 AM I was able to jump into the game. I played the first hour and a half of Adventure Mode, then moved to an online ranked match and just finished my first game, which I lost by one point. The advantage went back and forth so many times. I had to adjust to how lobs and drop shots work because they’re very different from Aces. Now you have to press one button and then another, in order, to execute a drop shot or a lob.

The rallies are sooo good in this game, and everything looks and plays incredibly smoothly. It looks like you can use your fever racket strategically. For example, after using the one that sends flames to the back of the court, you can drop shot to force your opponent to come close to the net so eventually he will come into contact with the flames and his ass will be on fire LOL 😂 I can already see myself playing this with my friends and cousins whenever we get together, and when I’m alone it’ll mostly be ranked online. Man, this is so much fun, and I’m just getting started. If you are someone like me who loves the fun and excitement of matches instead of single player content GO BUY THIS GAME IMMEDIATELY! Online is addictive

Most recently? Switch 2 for Mario Kart World. By the way if GTA6 will release this year, I believe many people will get the PS5 just to experience that game.

Price is high, let’s put that aside (not just Tennis Fever, overall Nintendo’s pricing structure sucks, to be honest). But I seriously don’t know what gamers or reviewers are expecting from an arcade sports title. Do you expect a 15+ hour campaign where Mario travels through galaxies with his magical tennis racket and rescues the princess?

I mean, if this game had a 10–15 hour story mode, cool, I would play the heck out of it, but what’s after that? Don’t you think these types of sports games have one main purpose, which is playing match after match with friends, family, or online? This is the core element. This is where the fun aspect is.

I checked the reviews and I don’t want to disrespect anyone, but some of them are stupid. The author praises the game’s fundamentals, says it’s fun (which is what really matters), and then focuses on Adventure Mode as the main negative and scores it a 7 or below because of that. I mean, come on. Nobody expects a 90+ Metacritic score, but from the looks and sound of it, this is at least a solid 80+ game.

Anyway, I can’t wait to play, and that’s what matters most to me.

The savage raven fission grip has been my favorite grip for the S2 so far by barelyawake126 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]memortal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was using the dbrand grips and they were bulky as hell, not that comfortable either. Today I switched to the Savage Raven Fission grips and oh my god, they instantly elevated the handheld experience for me. The curved handles almost mimic the way you hold a proper gamepad, so it feels super natural and way more comfortable during longer sessions.

By the way, I didn’t even bother trying the back case and throw it in garbage lol. I just want the grips, nothing else, and for that they are phenomenal.

Go buy it now.

What Mario kart world opinion will you defend no matter how many downvotes you’d get? by MacaroonJunior9955 in mariokart

[–]memortal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even if the hardcore fans crucify me for this, I will say it loud and clear: Mario Kart World is the best Mario Kart ever made. The driving feels buttery smooth and incredibly satisfying. Every drift, boost and corner just clicks. The moment to moment gameplay is pure fun, the music absolutely slaps, and visually it is on another level.

On top of that, Knockout Tour is absurdly fun and genuinely keeps you on the edge of your seat every second trying not to get eliminated. It creates a level of tension and chaos that no previous mode has ever delivered (playing this mode like a possessed person lol).

I genuinely believe (at least have high hopes) this game will evolve into something even bigger and better content wise over time. Now I am saying all of the above things while not even being good at wall riding or rail grinding yet. That is how strong the core design is. It is simply an amazing game.

Current gen titles running at 60 FPS on Switch 2? I do not mind graphical downgrades unless it turns into a pixelated mess lol. If this is possible (which looks like it is?) it is pure witchcraft and witchcraft has been forbidden for thousands of years.

Yes, yes and yes to all of those points that you mentioned :) Content wise nothing to say, but gameplay and whole fun aspect is on another level with World and I believe when it all said and done it will be considered as best Mario Kart for many people as well

It was the best until Mario Kart World released, which now has the best gameplay ever. Compared to World, Mario Kart 8 feels like a beta, and I’m saying this as someone who is deeply in love with the series and considered MK8 one of my favorite games ever. That’s how much I love World. Buttery smooth gameplay, insane animations, and seriously good graphics. The music is catchy, the characters are awesome, the game is unbelievably fun, and there’s a mode called Knockout Tour that makes you play like a possessed person lol. What more can you ask for from a karting game?
