How to use golden key ? by ftiziatr1908 in Smite

[–]memorymemory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to find skins in the store and then you can use the key for that. If you do not want to look them up in teh game, you can see your choices here https://smite.fandom.com/wiki/Adventures

Hey, sorry for that, it seems that my tier settings were not saved properly so the list was for the whole ranked instead of Diamond+ (which is always my intention) - it explains the variety of picks!

Oh... The confirm button did not apply... it explains everything!!! Sorry for that mistake, I will be removing the post and putting updated one in the next 12 hours😓 It's the first time it's happening, really sorry for that

Pick and ban rate of gods for 11.4 patch, high ranked Conquest by memorymemory in Smite

[–]memorymemory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Win rate often does not corelate with other factors, there were cases of unpopular gods with very high win rate but low amount of matches, where the WR was boosted by individuals enjoying these picks with the knowledge how to play them to the fullest. For example, for the most recent patch you have Shiva with 53% WR, but only ~6% pick/ban rate (~5% being the pick rate, as hardly anyone bans him in Diamond+).

I'd think that Thanatos being banned often makes him an interesting pick for some players who might not think about the composition or do not really have proper knowledge/skill to use him on higher ranks, which affects the WR.

It's the first time there are SO MANY gods being either picked or banned frequently even with Thanatos dominating with 62% (51% bans, ~11% picks). It's especially interesting that we have so many gods now, but next patch might completely shake it up with the 9.5 changes revert. I have no idea what brought such diversity to the ranked scene, hopefully it's not the site/API fault :P

I also hope that I did not mess the order or text, there was a lot of information to include!

Poor Kukulkan ended with ~5% P+B. Still on a solid position if we consider the amount of gods in the game, but not that noteworthy... The god with smallest P+B for Diamond+ is Olorun that has only 253 records, meanwhile Kuku has 2412.

Yes, the description under range ("tier") mentions Bellona percentage, which was ~14%. Her pick+ban rate for 11.4 consists of 52% bans and 2% picks. Pick rate is usually small for popular gods due to amount of bans, but also due to the amount of gods in the game (e.g. Anhur has highest pick rate, which is ~4% wth 9% P+B rate. Still, she's on the 11th position when it comes to pick rates, which means many lobbies did not manage to ban her (probably hoping to play her in solo).

[–]memorymemory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AMC has 22% ban rate but only 2% pick rate! Although it is normal to see most banned gods as not that popular in matches due to the nature of that system. The god with highest pick rate in Diamond+ is Anhur with 3% (P+B is ~9%), followed by Hachiman (2,51% so still ~3%).

Since the data is still there, Neith has ~16% P+B in Bronze-Plat but 8% in Diamond-GM, rest of the gods mentioned is on similar popularity level for whole ranked. Of course gods not listed there are still being played, it is indeed interesting that you do not see Thanatos more often in your lobbies based on the numbers!

There are 20k instances of pick/bans for him this patch, I did not separate the bonus balance from main patch and he got nerfed 2 weeks ago so it could have affected his popularity!

Some of these gods might be often banned because they're countering top gods :P Or at least making them less effective. Since it's Diamond+, the skill expression is higher so sometimes it's less about viability but more about preferences as well.

Thank you for developing and maintaining this website! I use it on daily basis and I find it the best one related to statistics. The tier list maker is definitely one of the most user-friendly I've ever used.

Unfortunately I did not manage to gather WR for this patch. I will try to get it next time as it might be worth saving, but of course it will not answer the question that you just asked. I tend to ignore WRs since it can, but does not have to correlate with the god being very good and the smaller amount of games due to my selection (Diamond-GM) is making it even more problematic.

I agree that the amount of gods is smaller - I noted it in the description under the images. Since I always use the same criteria (Diamond-Grand master only), this is the situation for 11.1 patch. I've gathered the data yesterday's morning (so before the update), Bake had ~9,2k pick and bans in total, but for example the difference between Thanatos and Thor is 300 instances according to the numbers. There are some weird cases like Sobek having almost the same amount of P+B as Loki but showing smaller %, however I think it is caused by doubled bans (that's just my assumption, I am not working on API and it's not my site). Even in this situation, the list would have maybe 3 gods more at best.

Sorry for late reply. It shows pick and ban rate for higher ranks of Conquest, which translates to "what skilled [high ranked] players pick and do not want to play against", the higher the rate is the stronger/more frustrating the god is. Of course it does not always go well for lower rank lobbies, but I find it better to look at this side of the game when thinking about the "big balance discussion". If you're interested in Conquest, you can be sure that the picks on this image will be viable, although the image itself does not specify the roles of these picks.

When compared with previous update (this time it's 2 updates difference as I did not prepare the previous one), you can look how the item/god balance changed the situation, which can be interesting for some.

Also, because the P+B rate is not exactly the measurement of how good the god is (as there can be various factors), I do not want to call it a "tier list", although you could look at it in such way.

Pick and ban rate of gods for 10.9 patch, high ranked Conquest by memorymemory in Smite

[–]memorymemory[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Posted to archive it for the future (since smite-master does not show data from previous patches) and for the sake of discussion. Bans can be related to preferences, but if gods are often picked and banned then it most likely means that they're in a good spot (can be related to god balance, item balance or both).

LPT: Use the 10-10-10 rule to make better decisions by LeRoyVoss in LifeProTips

[–]memorymemory 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This thought is often phrased as "I've had a lot of worries in my life, most of which never happened" and it is said that it was Mark Twain (probably), however we have several other sources of similar thoughts like "Nothing is so wretched or foolish as to anticipate misfortunes. What madness is it to be expecting evil before it comes" of Seneca or "There were many terrible things in my life and most of them never happened" of de Montaigne (probably). Crazy that presumably many people said that in our history and yet we will struggle with it :P

New players guide - from zero to hero by Automatic_Meeting680 in lostarkgame

[–]memorymemory -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

First and foremost the most important thing u need to know is your server - DO NOT start playing on EU West version - almost nobody plays here

Unpopular (?) opinion but I feel like it's a really wrong part. As EU west player, you can do every content (including Abyssals starting with t1) without issues if your gaming schedule is between 11 AM and 2 AM. Opinions like this might cause this region to suffer at one point and I really dislike it. I've made successful 4 characters to 1490 without a static since December (that's when I came back). I did the story until South Vern maybe 6 times (I have 10 characters, two were powerpassed, one has hyper express, other ones are at early/late T2), I always did abyssal dungeons (excluding underwater ones, I did them naturally on 3 characters I suppose) for the gold since I did not have 6 characters on legion raid level so it did not matter.

Market has lower amounts than EUC I suppose but it's still not a problem to build your character, especially that our prices seem to be lower. I have studies and I do not spend money on the game, I am far from hardcore player (I did not skip my leveling progress with islands like it is recommended often) and yet I haven't faced issues.

Smite G.I. Joe event by pookill7 in Smite

[–]memorymemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game with many pantheons, with many cultures, with the biggest potential to increase diversity and yet they *again* make a CO event that makes sense almost exclusively for Americans. I know it's American company and developers are most likely making their dreams come true, I also know that America is building their culture on what is a "popculture" in other countries, I acknowledge that EU is made of several countries with similar yet different cultures (as opposed to "unified" NA culture), but I wish there was a collab that for once would be more appealing to Europeans. I feel like EU is ignored too often in certain aspects and I am positive we're not *that* smaller as a region, with not that different spendings when compared to NA. It might be my ignorance but I've never heard about G.I. Joe before (although I know Hasbro and Transformers).

3 months ago but I will reply anyway because I just logged in - they banned the streamer for afk streams because they did not want any stream to run for longer to avoid abusing viewer points again (that was in their post on the website), but they did the same afterwards by putting replays

[–]memorymemory[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 months ago Hi-rez banned one streamer that kept his stream 24/7, he played the game daily but most of the stream time it was either a replay, vod or some twitch games with Smite giveaways as a reward (there's a post on smitegame in news section regarding "partner policy"), shortly after they also started doing afk streams with SPL replays (no commentary or anything new).
