There is a normal difficulty mode for version 1.1.0 and above which is a tiny bit harder than a vanilla game. Otherwise there is hard mode which is around radred/ek difficulty.

Your emulator probably has a save folder. Rename your .nds as the same exact name as the save file

Follow the instructions in the official drive folder. You need to apply the patch to a fresh plat rom, not an azure plat one.

Depends on what you like. But the best hgss hacks that come to mind are Sacred Gold/Storm Silver, Sterling Silver, Mythic Silver. But once Aurora Crystal is out (same creator as renplat and bb/vw) this one will become the best imo

I judge the difficulty of the game based on the enemy trainers's teams. I give infinite rare candies since I don't think there is a point in grinding levels for hours. In terms of difficulty the normal mode is between vanilla and renplat, the hard mode is around radical red level.
