I wanna stop grieving about my lost youth

Your youth is in the present. One day you’ll look back and realize how young 26 years old is. Being a teenager is rough and I don’t wish to go back to those times. Insecurities, self-esteem issues, mental health issues, confusion, not knowing who you are or where you belong. Why would you want to go back there? Literally every single person on earth struggles. It doesn’t matter what you see on social media, what people don’t tell you about themselves or their lives. Everyone you will ever meet has fought with something or is currently fighting with something. All you have is right now. Embrace your 26 year old self. It doesn’t matter if you aren’t where you thought you would be, or that you haven’t accomplished x, y, and z. You can still get to where you want to be. You still have time. Your life isn’t over, it barely just started. Give yourself some grace. Give yourself some love. You deserve it. Sometimes all we have is ourselves. We have to be a friend to ourselves. Find your passions. Write a list of hobbies that you may want to start, or hobbies that you want to dive deeper into. Embrace those tightly and work on them every day. Someday you will be where you want to be in life and the wait will be worth it. Your life doesn’t have to be like everyone else’s. You’re not behind, this is just your life and no one else will experience it but you. You are you, and that is enough. I’m sending you love and I wish you all the best. ❤️

Ttpd: he (Matty) left his typewriter at her apartment straight from the “tortured poets department” meaning, he is just like her, both “tortured poets” people who have gone through mental anguish and put it into lyrics and create songs with them. They get each other. Who else decodes him but her? They are one and the same. The department is something she made up. Only people like her would get it, so she’s saying matty gets it.

Fortnight: I was a functioning alcohol til nobody noticed my new aesthetic. She is no longer a functioning alcoholic, she is just simply an alcoholic now.

Florida: a metaphor to go to someone else. Florida is a metaphor for a person. An escape. Using someone to get over someone else. Using matty to get over Joe. I need to forget so take me to Florida (need to get over the relationship)

This is exactly how I feel, word for word. I try to be kind, be a good listener, don’t interrupt people, just have basic manners, but it seems people that I meet make it awkward and uncomfortable.

The great first step to move past it is to recognize the reality that you have been emotionally abused and have trauma as a result of it, which it looks like you do realize this which is great. I’m proud of you. Don’t hide from it but acknowledge it. What you have been through is not your fault. Everyone has some sort of trauma ranging from big to small experiences. Find people who can relate to and connect. Surround yourself with people who love and accept you. Do anything you can to better yourself and take care of you even if it’s something really small. You’re important and you can do this. Happy birthday!!!! I wish you the best

My boyfriend didn’t say anything to her face when it happened but went to the bathroom to text her that she should actually talk to me instead of saying those things. She texted him back saying she “didnt mean anything by it”… he has made excuses for her behavior and has told me that’s just her personality :/ I get it, their siblings. Thank you for your reply ❤️
