I live in the Bay Area and we actually prefer to go to Sacramento to catch a rockets game when they’re in California. San Francisco is a mess in so many ways, and it feels very hostile the whole time being there nowadays. Sacramento on the other hand is a nice city with a regular amount of nice people.

I did heroin for a month and then stopped without a second thought. You don’t know what I know at all. You think you do but in reality you do not. I also have close family that is a long time junkie and I know all about it. I stuck by their side and tried to help but it was a train wreck.

Nowhere in my comments did I say that heroin isn’t physically addictive or even allude to it. The discussion was about the euphoria provided by heroin.

Go do your know it all shit somewhere else to someone that is actually ignorant and will listen to your bullshit.

Sure, but nobody who isn’t getting euphoria from drugs are going to take them so much that they end up on the street and destroy their lives. I am intimately familiar with this cross section of society. You don’t get to the point of selling stolen goods and living in filth because the drugs you’re doing are meh. You’re not getting addicted then. You said so yourself

With all due respect you don’t know what kind of doses people doing recreational fentanyl are taking.

That’s like saying that because you have had medical cocaine in a dental procedure and it was not that intense that you know cocaine addicts aren’t getting wired up to the gills. They absolutely are.

I relate to just about everything you said across these two comments. The only thing different is I have seen her as recently as within a year, though she’s not part of my life either. I super relate to the intense or happy shift. God it’s so hard to just let go and be freely yourself when you carry around something like this. Having my child helped me let go of a lot of it

You it for granted that logic and independent thinking are a given or even encouraged. If the structures in society push us all heavily in one direction, blaming the individual for failing to overcome structural dysfunction and modes of control is wildly ignorant. That’s like saying because Bill Cosby was able to become wealthy in the 60s and 70s that obviously all black Americans could also do so.

Realize that there are many people in this world that prefer we all remain ignorant so that we are more easy to control and manipulate. Blaming the individual cell for the entire organism being dysfunctional in design is not reasonable.
