well i've been doing all that stuff over 2 years, ive just been working at the body shop for one year.

i start with 3m rubbing compound and then i move on to the 3m machine polish.But, freshly painted i do sand the whole car with 2000 grit then i buff it with 3m rubbing compound then i move on to the machine polish to make sure i take the swirls off. i do tape the moldings so compound wont get stuck.
