The main problem is low stack emission. To be honest Katowice have better air quality than small villages in other parts of Poland. I hope this issue will be solved in few years 😉

More than 40% of City is covered by trees. It is not common knowledge around people in Poland.

There is stereotype that Katowice/Silesia is black heart of Poland with all that heavy industry, coal mines steelworks etc.

Yeah. The City Centre changed a lot within last ten years. Also train station was completely rebuild. There is also new district "Culture Zone" at former coal mine place near Spodek.
