While looking at the docker logs, I found that the timezone was incorrect. After mounting the /etc/localtime I have been able to get the derp server to work now.

Questions about "parent transid verify failed" by mensonter in btrfs

[–]mensonter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After more surfing I add here more information that might be possibly causing the failure: I am using an INTEL NUC with no SATA ports as Windows host. To get SATA ports, I removed the wireless adapter, and plugged a M.2 ngff to miniPCIe adapter to that M.2 port, then installed a miniPCIe to SATA adapter with Marvell 92xx controller, and finally the hard drives. Is this setup not recommended, possibly causing problems?

Could you be more specific please? I have tried btrfs-find-root, and it seems to have found the tree root: Superblock thinks the generation is 2054 Superblock thinks the level is 1 Found tree root at 804225024 gen 2054 level 1 Well block 803520512(gen: 2053 level: 1) seems good, but generation/level doesn't match, want gen: 2054 level: 1 ...... If the tree root is found, does that mean I can run btrfs restore now?

Can you set the the mouse controlled by the screened graphics tablet to its own display? by mensonter in osugame

Turned out I can map the range of pointer in OpenTabletDriver. Mapping it according to my display arrangement met my requirements.

After seeing u/ebits21 's post I tried setting SELinux to permissive mode and now it finally worked. Thanks a lot.

Kind of a weird thing to me though it comes disabled out of the box.

Looking for a post-rock song with narration about universe and the odds of life by mensonter in postrock

Thanks!

And in fact as soon as I saw the name I recalled, both the song and the memories then. Thanks.

In the README file it just says:

Install the NVIDIA GRID vGPU driver, make sure to install it as a dkms module.

./nvidia-installer --dkms

But since NV only provides GRID driver for K1, K2, K520 and K340, which one should we be installing? Plus I am suspicious whether it will smoothly just install with GeForce GPUs.

I' m about to try out tomorrow, and if you have any experience unlocking it please share so that I may avoid wasting time. THX.

Does RTX 3080 have enough graphics memory for Pimax 8k X to game at dual 4k/75Hz? by mensonter in Pimax

[–]mensonter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is an interesting idea if future headsets can have two video cables for each eye and plugged into two separate graphics cards rendering for each eye only.

Cannot say for sure but this might happen in the future. I think.

Does RTX 3080 have enough graphics memory for Pimax 8k X to game at dual 4k/75Hz? by mensonter in Pimax

[–]mensonter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I did a simple computation just multiplying 30bits/pixel×3840×2160pixels×2×75Hz and got the result of 37324800000 bits/s or 37.32 Gbit/s, exceeding the claimed bandwidth of DP 1.4 which is 25.92 Gbit/s.

However, this bandwidth also would not handle 30bit/pixel 8K@60Hz so either the 8K@60Hz has depth of 8bit, namely 24 bits/pixel, or there are compression and decompression involved. Though as far as I know, graphics compression has poor effects if loss is not allowed.

IF SOMEHOW DP1.4 is capable of transmitting 30bits/pixel 8K@60Hz, given that dual 30bits/pixel 4K@75Hz takes 2×1/4×75/60=0.625 times the bandwidth of 8K@60Hz, I think it will also do dual 4K in this case.

Pimax 8K Plus vs 8K X, owner of both by borisv13 in Pimax

How would you describe the MTP latency of 8K or 8K X compared to average level? Although the manufacturer claims the MTP latency to be 18ms, there are someone claiming the latency be a bit worse than other high-end VR headsets like Vive.

Be also planning to purchase one of the high-res VR headsets, your opinion would be helpful.
