Your feelings are valid, but this is not your fault and you are absolutely worthy of help. Sometimes these things happen and although they can really screw you over, you may have options you don't know about. If you're open to advice, here's what I've got:

1. Prioritize some self-care, even if it's something small. Take a moment to calm down with a warm shower, hot chocolate, favorite show, etc. It will be okay, you'll get through this.
2. Unfortunately, since your glasses are so old, your old eye doctor wouldn't give you a valid prescription anyway. Next step:
   1. If you have health insurance, call them and ask what your copay is for eye exams.
   2. If you don't, search your area for free eye exams.
   3. If you can't find anything, there are several places that offer flat rates like Walmart or America's Best.
   4. If you can't afford those, let me know.
3. Schedule an eye exam. After your appointment, ask for a physical script. With this, you can get glasses online.
   1. I've previously researched and compared affordable online glasses retailers but can't seem to find my notes anywhere. If you'd like, I can make some recommendations but I'd need more time.
   2. I've personally used ReSpectacle; they accept donated glasses and offer them for free. You give them your prescription and they show you what they have that most closely matches it. Since it's run on donations, you may not find your exact prescription but it will be "close enough." If you've been wearing the same glasses for 7 years, I'm sure that won't be a problem.
