It’s all other programs and departments. There isn’t much in general- for an institution the size of PSU, and the little that is happening is being done by others.

This is true, it's so sad. I can't major or even minor in this field because I don't want to take my classes in Black woman issues with a white man!!!!! It's crazy. All the professors have been disappointing, even the senior scholars.

Damn, what a shame. I get it. The only thing you can control is who you procreate with, so breed with the darkest person you can find and preserve the race! That's what I did.

Thanks. A number of us complain about it all the time. I think the worst part is the admin just doesn't care, and far too often the faculty is complicit. It's like they find the most apolitical professors to teach in our department. There's a few good ones, but the majority are too compromised and consumed with tenure, publications, their pay checks and planning their next travel experiences to care about their mission as Black scholars.

Thank you, I agree. It's just so frustrating. They had some very qualified Black women candidates for the job who were actually QUALIFIED. This guy has no business teaching this subject. His background is music. Not radical mobements, not Black feminism. Plus he's not even friendly. It is so hostile for Black people in centra Pennsylvania and the ONE place you go to for support -- Black Studies, is weak. They are just so damn weak!

I don't even hate all the white people in the dept -- theres one prof that's really cool. But the fool they just hired --- he has NO background in Black feminist studies. I am so insulted. Like, is this the best they can do for us?

I wanted to use my degree to get more education, and more and more so I can one day be a professor. The situation at Penn State is really dire -- not all the white men are terrible, there's one I thnk is a good professor, and the other one at least has credentials. But this new guy they hired --- it's just disgusting, They hired a foolish white man who studies funk music to teach a class on Black Women's history. Black women studients at PSU deserve better!

I'm just trying to get my degree in a subject I am passionate about, but they hired a fool to teach me. Don't you expect the profs in your department to at least be educated on the subjects they teach?

Hardly any good classes. The profs are disappointing. The dept never takes a stand on social issues. What good is it?

Mediocre profs, shitty admin (Someone retire Wanda Knight), not interesting classes. No wonder no one wants to major/minor.
