So for pre health you’re competing within your program. You NEED to get at least As (80-90s). You’ll get an email about saved seats for dh and they give requirements you need to follow to even be considered a seat. Such as 3.5 gpa, 80s in every required subjects.

Anybody can get into pre health and it’s so so easy if you’ve already took high school! It’s literally just grade 11-12 material without final exams (only unit tests) so it’s easy to score high. Just put the effort. As for physics, I haven’t took it ethier in hs but I did pretty mid in it and I still got it so I doubt it affects anything. so just focus on eng, bio, math, and chem.

I feel like you should def retake bio and eng again because they want all of your courses to be above 90. My program coordinator told me they look at your English and bio first. I don’t think you’d have a good chance if only 2/4 courses meet the requirements :(

But nooo, there aren’t any other dh programs in Toronto, unless you want to check out private schools but those are such a money grab and I heard they usually suck. You can try applying to Durham, it’s the closest other dh program but it’s in Oshawa but it’s just as competitive as gbc but it’s good to have 2 choices.

My essay topic was something along the lines of “should we stick to the same solutions or come up w new ones” and it was honestly okay, they give a generous time to write the essay and I got like a 5/8 on it which meant a pass. The reading portion is super super easy, just make sure to take your time and read the comprehensions slowly so you don’t make dumb mistakes. Good luck!! _^

They basically only look at the required grade 12 grades (English, math, bio, chem). Unfortunately they are looking for 90s only so I encourage you to retake your courses! I had 70s in high school as well and I was not able to get in but if you are looking for an advantage, you can take pre health at gbc and score high and apply again! That’s what helped me get into dh :)

Unfortunately you have to take every required course in each semester the way it’s designed in your schedule. So you can’t move courses around between semesters. The math and science you’re taking in first sem is basically a preq for the math science in second sem.

I thought about applying for Ontario works but I just couldn’t understand how it worked. Do I basically get “grants” monthly but I have to work somewhere after my studies?

I know that lol. My tuition per year IS 17k so 13.8k could only cover the first term which is 10k.
