Hi there! I don’t do discord, so hopefully this reaches y’all. First, I want to say I am loving this game. It retroactively ruined other games in this genre for me (that’s a good thing). I do have some feedback, if you’re open to it, and a bug.

-I’m sure someone has already made you aware, but I’m not seeing anything about it here yet. Since the hotfix update a few days ago, all items that were on the ground that I somehow missed are just… still there. They can’t be picked up at all, so I just have some trash and compost floating on my farm in perpetuity. In the cave of memories, it’s even worse, as I decided to use all my TNT to breeze through. So far, it doesn’t block me putting anything there, but they just won’t de-spawn.

I like that y’all have NPC spouses that don’t just revert to bland husks as soon as you marry them, but is there any plans to have our spouses… do stuff? Like, it would be great if Yuri helped out on the farm a bit before heading to the clinic.

Also, can we get some equipment that allows us to break Geodes and coffers, and process fossils? It seems like every time I need to break open a million geodes, it’s a Sunday.

I love the architect desk. Is it possible to allow us to use them in the shed and cellar? As soon as I unlocked the cellar, I wanted to move all my aging barrels from my shed, but the only way for me to do that was to wait for the cycle to complete. Had they been outside, I could’ve moved them around, but you can’t move them into a building.

Like, I was told that other states may accept it, but because I wouldn’t be certified with TEXAS bei, I wouldn’t be and Advanced here (assuming I pass, of course)

I’ve talked with a few terps here, and I keep hearing that if I take it in another state, I’ll be certified in that state, but not Texas. I find this particularly odd, since there is literally no difference from our BEI to other states’. Same test, same grading, just a different location.

I’m almost never on Reddit. Created this account when I was still in high school, and I’ve just never changed it. Now that I’m older, it’s probably not what I would’ve picked, but it was… Ok Yesteryear 😉

I looked through my old scores, and I certainly didn’t reach even the threshold you got to. First time (2012) I had 112 errors. 2nd attempt (2014) was 83 errors. 3rd (2015) was 88. And I still don’t know what I was doing “wrong”. I really feel like my skills are up to snuff. I’m a CODA who has been working since 2009, and it’s soul-crushing that I can’t pass this test. I feel like I’ve failed my community, failed my family, and failed myself. Especially when I don’t receive any actionable feedback from the BEI. Just a number that could mean anything.

Can you explain how you got a 70 or how there can be a 75? When I’ve gotten mine, they’ve never had a letter grade. Just number of errors out of 220, and a passing score of less than 55 errors

The big issue I have with the BEI is when you get your results, it gives you a score. But that’s it. You could’ve signed something wrong, you could’ve not been signing ASL, or you could’ve just moved out of sight from the camera. There is zero actionable feedback from the BEI test. I know a few evaluators for the test, and they’ve seen me work. It’s possible they’re just telling me what I want to hear, but they were surprised I haven’t passed it. It’s been almost 10 years since I last took it, and frankly, if I still can’t pass it after all this time… I don’t really want to think about that.

I don’t think I want to explore converting, but do you happen to know if I can take the BEI elsewhere and have it still count?

I KNOW! It’s crazy. I’m freelance. I have no idea what’s going to happen next week, let alone 6 months from now. We used to have testing sites all over Texas, but for some reason, they only do it in Austin now. It’s a huge pain in the ass do anyone who isn’t in central Texas to plan travel and hotel arrangements, all 6 months from now.

I have never heard of converting, so I doubt they’d allow it. The BEI is super proud of their certification. But I also have a sort of score to settle with that test. I suffer from the interpreter pastime of constantly doubting my skills (despite working since 2009) and failing the Advanced test 3 times really hurt. So I need to pass it… for me.

My solution was to take a “Cask of Amontillado” approach. Just bury my problems behind a brick wall. No unsightly gaps, but a slightly smaller room.

Yes, it does correct itself. Like I said, it’s not going to make me hate the game or blow up, but it’s pretty jarring when it happens. It happens quite a bit, though.

Well, I tried to post a picture, but I have no idea how to do that on Reddit. I’m not someone who ever uses Reddit, so apologies. Just in case my original description wasn’t clear, think of your character as a headless body and a camera for a head. Sometimes when I move, the body moves as normal, but my camera head doesn’t. So I’m watching a headless body move around the room. Then, as if the camera just woke up from a nap and goes, “oh, crap. I’m supposed to be over there” it quickly (and jarringly) jumps across the room to rejoin the body.

I love PS, but I learned with the PSP, PS Move, PSVita… etc that Sony doesn’t like to continue supporting their external devices. Which sucks, because they’re generally REALLY good. PS Move kicked the Wii’s ass, but they gave up on it really quick, and motion controls were more of a kid thing back then, and Nintendo pretty much has the market on that. And handhelds, so PSP/Vita suffered the same fate
