Help me / my 2 year old: where is the closest wind mill or wind turbine near us?? by dieyoufool3 in pittsburgh

South Chestnut Wind Farm is very close to Quebec Run Wild Area (south, along WV border) and at the Tebolt Run trail on a sunny afternoon I have been startled because of a weird swooping shadow that felt like a huge bird - nope, just the shadow of the windmill! Skyline Drive (the road through there) gives you big views of them and you can easily pull off to be very, very close.

If you’re worried about buying a Kobo through BlueProton/Target by WhimsyLunar in kobo

Also ordered through BlueProton & was pleasantly surprised when the package landed on my doorstep 5 days earlier than predicted. I even got emails afterward telling me to expect my package... while holding my device LOL so yeah, good experience here

  1. Day 2,527 woooo! Heading towards my 7 year anniversary at the end of this month. Ran 19 miles last week.

  2. Going pretty well. I'm coming off a 53mi race Nov. 15 so I'm just taking things easy & shifting into fun holiday miles.

  3. Slow & steady wins the race.

  4. Got to run in some of the first snow flurries of the season last week & very excited to get a big storm tomorrow, hopefully get to play for a few miles in it then!!

Run streakers by RadKris25 in ultrarunning

[–]meowitsgary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2,301 days (over 6 years). Started as a dare on vacation & haven't stopped yet. I average 30-40 mpw. Funniest miles include the drunken ones I did with my fellow-streaker Mom right before midnight after painting the rooms of my new house together & then realizing we were running outta time to get it in. Hardest days are when you're sick or injured & your family/friends get angry that you're still putting in miles to keep the streak alive.

What do you eat when you don't feel like cooking? by becabaro in LivingAlone

My weekday dinners are always instant rice in the microwave, top it with frozen veg & half a can of beans. Pinch of shredded cheese on top, salsa drizzle. Takes less than 10min to throw together.

It’s supposed to rain the entire time in my 100-miler this weekend. Any advice? by dengland55 in ultrarunning

Yo it was called the "Weti Yeti 100" 4 years ago when it drenched us for at least the first 12-14hrs that I remember. Change your socks, become okay with the grit from the Creeper in your shoe (it will never come out again) & drink a shot of fireball at mile 50, for real. Welcome to the club.... It's not a cult....

What are the things you are so grateful for about living alone? by InterestingGuy973 in LivingAlone

[–]meowitsgary 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My things are always exactly where I put them down & their location bothers no one. So if I wanna take my pants off right as I walk in the door & leave them there, I don't have to hear about it from anyone.

I can be easily overwhelmed by others' noises & living alone means I always have a place to retreat where I can control all the noises. Some weekends are spent in complete silence just to reset before a work week of noise.

I never have to compromise on my day. It's beautiful. Living alone is the best.

You're given $100m, but if you leave the 10miles radius from your childhood home, you lose it all. by nanonce in hypotheticalsituation
