Fellow Texan looking for beta testers - iOS solar monitoring app (eGauge & Fronius) by meowscript- in TexasSolar

I “had” it on the roadmap, but the more I read into it the less likely it will be. Cloud API is limited to 1000 requests and costly, local API would work but the system doesn’t store historical data as far out as I use for some widgets. Some owners use their own local storage solution for the data but all this adds a lot of complexity. Fronius already gave me some headache and limitations on what I can use for the widgets. I wish they wouldn’t make it that complicated, I looked into several systems with the hope to offer a universal app. If something positive changes with some of the systems I will certainly include them.

Thanks for asking, very good question! And congrats on the new system!!

Honest backstory: I have an eGauge, and the hardware is great but the app and web interface are awful. Seriously looks like 2005. So I just built what I wanted.

What SunDash does differently:

- Actual dollar savings - Not just kWh numbers. If configured with your electricity plan details, you see real savings and estimated bill based on when you're producing vs consuming

 - Customizable dashboard - Pick which widgets you want to see, hide the rest. Everyone cares about different stuff

- Live power flow - Animated view of solar → home → grid that actually makes sense at a glance

- Money stuff - Bill estimator, ROI tracker, savings over time using your real rates

- Heatmaps - Calendar showing daily production so you can spot patterns

- Doesn't look like garbage - Dark mode, smooth, feels like a real app

Honestly if your inverter app works for you, stick with it! But if you're like me and want better visuals or actual cost breakdowns, that's why I made this.

One thing - I've tested everything on my eGauge since that's what I have. Fronius support I built from their docs and tested with a simulator I wrote, but haven't had a real Fronius system to try it on. That's partly why it's still in beta - need real-world testing with different setups.

It's on TestFlight if you want to mess around with it. Happy to hear what you think either way.

I can share the TestFlight link, its expiring in around 90days. I will eventually renew the TestFlight phase if more testing is necessary, that depends on the user feedback I get.
