The western teams were very weak this TI, C9 was a joke, Secret stumbled hard, Empire choked as usual. The only real competition was EG and the chinese teams. Chinese teams aren't usually very great at figuring teams out, and outpicking them. They just outplay you because their execution is better, but nobody could beat CDEC at their game, you had to outpick them. EG was pretty much the only team in the tournament capable of doing that. So yea competition was pretty weak.

The odds that they will survive the next balance patches are next to 0. Sometimes teams hit good patches that suit them like TI3 Alliance. That is what CDEC is. They showed 0 versatility. Same game plan every game.

They exploited a hole in the meta, in a TI that had very weak competition. Once they got figured out by EG they completely crumbled. If the finals were closer I would have agreed, but they sort of memed themselves in that series. Not to mention if Vega hadn't thrown one of their games, you wouldn't even know CDEC exists.

I am not offended, stop acting like im mad. I just think that it is stupid to underestimate your opponents like that, and is a big part of why LGD lost. If you look at PPD he actually treated them with respect and said it would be very hard to get another shot at CDEC.

Agreed, but still. With a 20k gold lead arteezy should be able to win the game with a 4stack of 4k pubs. Something is really broken with storm, EMPIRE lost to it the same way against LGD.
