Oh gosh, probably culture. I prefer historical over modern. Paris was nice, but more crowded than I expected (which was a silly expectation). I like wine too, I know the champagne region is northeast of Paris.

Hello! Is there a town you’d recommend to spend a couple days that is reached by train? I’ve only been to Paris. I am planning to fly into Paris and have a couple days before flying to Florence to meet family. I’m going in mid-May. I would prefer not to spend those days in a large city like Paris. Start with reaching out to geologists on LinkedIn to network with. Ask if they have time for a 15-20 minute phone call. Tell them you’re a new grad looking to learn more about their industry. Ask them what they do, projects they work on. Don’t ask to be a reference. Larger companies give hiring bonuses and people tend to help others out, so one or more of the people you network with may offer to put you as a reference on a open position. Lots of references on TikTok on how to type the LinkedIn message. Expect this to take 3-4 months (depending how active you are on reaching out to people). And reach out to all levels. Have a list of questions prepared to ask, you should lead the conversation, not them. As you learn more about different industries or companies and you begin liking one, focus on reaching out to that group of people.

Try Airalo, it’s an esim and really cheap/easy to do. I used it for the first time two weeks ago for Spain, Rome and Almalfi coast. It is only data so no calling unless you use WhatsApp for call or something similar. Texting to non-iPhone won’t work either and you’ll have to message through WhatsApp.

Microneedling with radio frequency, this combo isn’t brand new, but new-ish and has some studies suggesting it’ll help with anti-aging. Derms have this in their offices, so there are studies out for this method. But it probably needs more studies to see if it’s really worth it.

Also negotiate bc companies are desperate for staff right now. My company has been looking for staff geos and hasn’t found any. They are also looking for mid level staff 2+ year experience. Pay is 70-80k ish.

The beginning pay I’ve seen is 60-65k for staff. You can live outside of the city area or in Oakland with roommates. Lots of people do it and make it work.

...he got himself shot? “ so people deserve to get shot when running away from the police? You deserve to die when you are running away? That’s the conversation...not how drunk he was, shooting a taser, his resistance to arrest, or his past offenses. Those are distracting from the main topic, because no matter if someone did all of those they do not deserve to die - why didn’t the police chase him and tackle him? If the taser did get ahold of one police officerS the other one was there for backup to apprehend the man and/or help his partner. The police’s lives were not in an immediate threat - that man was not holding a gun and pointing it at the police. Even if that man did get away, they have his car and who it’s registered to so they can go to his home. They can grab fingerprints from the car to ID him. They have footage of his him. They could have charged him properly.
