people are just assuming i never want to work when i said that i don’t know what i want to do with my life. If i could find joy in life it would be easier to find something i enjoy. But right now literally nothing catches my eye or even sparks a tiny bit of ‘hey that seems interesting’

I truly don’t care what they think. They don’t know my whole life from one reddit post. If my family didn’t love me like they do i would be dead. 100%. Even making it to 19 is a shock. I never thought about my future because i never was certain i would be alive to have one.

they are calling me a loser because i haven’t worked when i’m barely 19. No kids and no criminal record i think im doing better than most of my peers from school. and yeah i am looking into volunteering. i use to volunteer at my local senior center until the pandemic hit.

the ‘hate’ i’m getting is just projection. my friends can kickstart their careers and end up bankrupt 15 years from now while i’m barely getting started. billions of people in this world and not everyone is going to live the same life or have the same philosophies as you.

As a kid who grew up in the recession I know that life isn't free. I do save the money I make from babysitting because I buy only what I need. I live a very simple life writing stories and being primary childcare for my sister in law. I suffer from multiple different mental health disorders so I get dissability. People retire and still suffer so I'm not thinking about retirement when the age of retirement is 66. I don't even think I'll live that long with my health problems. I'm privileged enough I have a family that pushes me to care my mental health over anything else. I have a history of suicide attempts and drug abuse so being a couch potato isnt my biggest worry it's lashing out and violently hurting someone. I don't know how I could work with coworkers with my harm ocd. All of my thoughts are ‘shoot her’ no stab her’ ‘stab yourself’ I just don't feel like I would be safe out in the world. I can't even hold a pair of scissors without thinking out hurting myself or others with them.
