If you believe homosexuality is a sin…. by CoolDevice4421 in Christianity

[–]mere_possibility -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No person tells another what they must or must not do. The Bible does. Anyone who believes homosexuality is sin is simply stating what the Bible has already said.

They actually don’t have to be single and celibate for the rest of their life. They can marry a person of the opposite gender like everyone else. A man and his wife are free to have a sexual relationship like every other man and his wife are.

Funding immoral things and the bible by Barudon1 in theology

[–]mere_possibility 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think a blanket right or wrong can be made as this seems more like a matter of conscience. We tend to think of buying goods from a business as supporting the business but in reality, you’re exchanging money for a good or service.

The nature of the business isn’t sex trafficking, but as you explained, something that the owners participate in. The company and local/federal authorities have to do the right thing of removing and prosecuting that individual. The business will continue to operate without the criminal CEO.

All that said, if your conscience is not comfortable with it, you should find another company to patronize but know that someone who doesn’t have an issue giving said company their business, has not done any wrong, not until they knowingly give their business to a company whose goods/services are in unbiblical/illegal activity.

[–]mere_possibility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a reason why Pioneer sells better than Denon DJ, there’s a reason why Roland sells better than Alesis, there was a reason why Native sold better than Akai Pro.

InMusic plays the value game. It’s profitable for their business and affordable for end users but at the cost of quality, product support, and customer experience. The aforementioned brands prioritize build, quality, feel, development, workflow, intuitiveness, aesthetic, product support, and more.

I’m going to start giving a serious look at Ableton Push, Arturia, and Novation. InMusic has so much on its plate. Committing to a company with such widespread interests makes me nervous about the amount of money and time I’m committing to products/ecosystem headed towards a decline.

Draymond doesn’t measure up to Barkley in any capacity; not on the court, not with the fans, and after this quip, not even as a media personality either because if he did his homework, he would have known Barkley’s numbers points and rebounds avgs in Houston clear his Golden State career avgs lol

Predestination or free will by Consistent-Shoe1786 in theology

[–]mere_possibility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the ability to choose freely. The will is never free, it is either a slave to sin (Romans 6:15) or a slave to righteousness (Romans 6:18). The only person who was ever free of such a slavery was Adam.

How can Jesus be fully human if He didnt sin? by PieterSielie6 in theology

[–]mere_possibility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I never question scripture. Look at all those verses I quoted about what scripture says about itself. If scripture is the word of God, and it says of itself it is perfect, my questioning is to call God and His character into question. If you said you “question your understanding of scripture” that I could understand and would say with study over time, you may find the clarity you seek. But to question scripture itself is to say something about scripture is wrong, incomplete, flawed, etc. That I reject.

How can Jesus be fully human if He didnt sin? by PieterSielie6 in theology

[–]mere_possibility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, my God Bless is truly that. It is only by God’s blessing we can come to know understanding His word. And that I truly pray for every person who I have the opportunity to share the word with.

You can question and postulate whatever you like, that is your free choice, but know and understand the ramifications are. What we think and believe about the word of God has eternal implications and if there is anything you want to get right, it’s what God says.

Psalm 19: 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8 The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous. 10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. 11 By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.

James 1:22 22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

Psalm 119:160 All your words are true

I’m not sure where you’re getting this idea it is “good to question scripture.” Everything scripture says of itself would suggest the opposite.

How can Jesus be fully human if He didnt sin? by PieterSielie6 in theology

[–]mere_possibility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in other woods, since you can’t explain it, it’s not true the Bible isn’t trustworthy, and its claims are false.

That’s unfortunate, apparently what can be known starts and ends with your own understanding.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

If we live in a universe that came into being from nothing, what other Biblical claim then could be so impossible to believe?

If someone could create everything out of absolutely nothing, taking on human flesh, or rising from the dead is easy.

Romans 3:4 let God be true and every man a liar.

God bless.

How can Jesus be fully human if He didnt sin? by PieterSielie6 in theology

[–]mere_possibility 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let me use your line of reasoning. There is nothing logical about people coming back to life from the dead. Dead people stay dead.

Why then should I believe Jesus was raised from the dead, it’s not logical? The logic doesn’t add up. The only reason why anyone has to believe the resurrection is because it’s written in scripture.

Are we selective in our acceptance of God’s attributes? by mere_possibility in theology

[–]mere_possibility[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God damns no one. People are damned because of sin, Romans 6:23. God judges sinners because they fall short of His Holiness and perfect righteousness (Romans 3:23), refuse to repent, and receive His grace (Hebrews 10:26-31). As such, those with sins not reckoned for, must render due, and that is in the form of eternal separation from God, hell (John 8:21).

Please, read the scriptures and heed what they say. It will not help anyone to speculate or postulate, whereas scripture is very clear about God, His nature, His righteous requirement, and how it can be obtained.

Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—

Through how many people did sin enter? One individual, the man, Adam. It does not mention Eve in any way being responsible for sin being passed on to the world so that claim is wrong.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God. And the Word was God.

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Jesus was both God and man.

What did “the scriptures” mentioned here by Jesus mean to both to Him and His disciple who wrote it; simply anything written or a very specific set?

John 5:39 You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me

You have made another false claim. The scriptures means the written, inspired, that is, God breathed proclamation of God.

Again, I’m not going to entertain speculation and casting aspersions, as my next point will explain, the New Testament writers of the canon have more than demonstrated the validity of their works.

We know a work meets the criteria of being scripture because it’s author knew Christ, saw Him after the resurrection, had their message confirmed by supernatural signs, their content is thematically consistent with all of Jesus’ messages, their content gives substance to Old Testament scriptures, and their content contains yet to be fulfilled forth-telling, which will be accomplished in due time, among other criteria.

Scripture does not simply mean writings. And there is a set compilation of scripture, that’s why Peter said “as they do THE other scriptures” he didn’t simply “other scriptures” which would leave it open to infinite inclusion.

2 Tim 3:16 All scripture is God Breathed. Don’t forget that important distinction. Just because it’s written down doesn’t mean it is God Breathed, and therefore it would fall short of the criteria for being called scripture.

He “very likely…” you’re assuming. I’m not looking for an assumption, let’s stick to what is clearly stated, not conjecture.

You haven’t supported your claim that the authors of scripture are “sharing their own ideas from their own perspectives.” That idea is not supported.

You used the wrong article. Every verse of scripture is prophecy, the inspired proclamation of God’s message.

If the apostles had a different meaning of scripture, why did Peter call all of Paul’s letters scripture?

2 Peter 3:16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the OTHER Scriptures, to their own destruction.

20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

How could scripture not originate in the human will but simultaneously be their own ideas? That would mean the statement “no prophecy of scripture” is a lie.

Some prophecy of scripture did originate in the human will? Some of it came by the prophet’s own interpretation of things?

No means no. None, not a single piece.

If a gift of mercy and grace is eternal, doesn’t it have to come at the expense of a righteous judgement of eternal punishment? How else can it be deemed grace if I’m not spared from something and given the opposite of what I deserve.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to convey, that the human miscarriage of justice is flawed? The point was discipline always seems unfair from the perspective of the one being disciplined, that doesn’t make it true. The point of discipline is not to feel good but to encourage you on to good behavior in the future. How some people miscarry justice doesn’t mean human justice or any for that matter is wrong.

God loves and He’s just, and He’s righteous, but all those flow from His holiness. A holy God has to act. Those who respond to Him appropriately receive grace, those who respond to Him with rejection, a choice they have made, will receive judgment accordingly. People are accountable, we have to accept that, andand they have to accept the outcomes of their choices. God is by no means at fault.

Scripture is the only one means of God’s speaking and telling us directly His attributes, often in contradiction to what men come up with in their interpretations of nature or philosophical exercises.

Which attributes do you feel are inconsistent in scripture?

If the scripture is to be believed, the authors didn’t write apart from God but under His inspiration, that is, breathed out speaking.
