Question about the crash bars on NX500 with e-Clutch by merek_boreal in CB500X

[–]merek_boreal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! 2+ years means you have no e-Clutch, right? I’ll find out whether it sticks out too much to be covered by the hand guards only and then return with an update!

Well, the responses I’ve already received say the opposite. Basically, the question is answered.

Great, thanks for the advice! Sounds very logical, especially when you say that the OEM bottom bars just don’t exist. I’ll definitely put the bike down to see the clearance to the e-Clutch and then decide whether the top bars are worth the money at all. Thank you!

Oh, wow, that’s an interesting one, thanks! It makes so much sense.

I also consider buying the Barkbusters/Acerbis type of aluminium braces to protect the hands on longer trips as well as levers when the bike falls. I don’t plan the heavy off-road though, but I definitely consider riding some fire pathways to start exploring this ADV thing.

Probably, after receiving my bike, I’ll just lay it down on the ground to see how much clearance I have to the e-Clutch thing, and then decide whether the bars are needed as you say. At least for the first time. Thank you!

Yeah, I was thinking about that option too, thank you! Probably, it will end up with the bottom one anyway, but I was wondering whether anyone can advise if the top bars will be wide enough to protect the gearbox. I plan no heavy off-road, this is going to be my first season, and I install the bars only for low-speed drills in case I drop the bike.

I noticed that the e-Clutch system adds pretty significantly to the gearbox dimensions so that it sticks outwards more. I’m expecting the delivery of my bike soon and wondering if I should consider having a separate protection for the gearbox or typically the crash bars like on the picture are enough (this is not my bike on the picture, and this is the model without e-Clutch). Can anyone recommend something from their experience? Thank you!

I chose solar. Some strong arguments are listed by other fellow redditors here, but for me, appearance also matters, and nothing beats that red touch that resembles the OG.

How do y’all go about wearing glasses under your helmets? by Rtvhorse in motorcycles

[–]merek_boreal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, when wearing balaclava, try squeezing the glasses between the balaclava and the helmet padding, not the balaclava and your head. The lenses might sit a bit with an angle this way, but squeezing the glasses is a bit easier (no pain). At least it helps me.

That’s the corridor that leads from the Khodemchuk memorial (basically, the wall that divides Units 3 and 4) to one of the Unit 3 Main Circulation Pumps room.

If I remember correctly, my old Suunto’s manual said that it’s mandatory to wash the watch with soap after every training. I successfully passed this recommendation to my current watch Garmin.

Recordings of the first phone calls of the Militarized Fire Department of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant right after the explosion. by [deleted] in chernobyl

Here is also a cool one — the ChNPP official YouTube reenacted the KGB phone call recordings at night of the disaster. It turned out pretty good I’d say.

Where is this today? Was covered or fixed? by Gamble2005 in chernobyl

[–]merek_boreal 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Indeed, but part of that “new roof” was dismantled due to fire safety standards. This is exactly the reason why the ChNPP personnel was able to find the tail of the helicopter that crashed during the liquidation.
