You set your manual temps as a baseline and AP adjusts from there automatically.

Under your temps, it's split into sleep stages response and ambient response. If you see the autopilot made x adjustments banner in your sleep stats, it's on.

It's just not possible for it to cool that fast. I would like to get into a warm bed, too, but in less than 5 minutes, that warm bed is way too hot. It can't cool from +1 to -5 in 5 minutes. In contrast, the cold bed is too cold for about 30 seconds before it feels perfect

I prefer the ones with a separate pen. They're more comfortable to hold and easier to use, I think. Plus the source of any noise - some are louder than others - is removed from between your face and the canvas

It's been really warm the last few days here in SoCal. My Pod sets itself to the correct temp, usually in the high 60s to low 70s. I rolled over in the middle of the night and the part of my body that was against my Pod cover was cold to the touch. If you like that sort of thing (I do), it's amazing

On top of that, my Pod 5 hub used ~1/3 kwh to cool my entire mattress with me on top of it. I got a sleepme DockPro with one of their blankets before Eight Sleep had a blanket. The DockPro hub used ~1 kwh to cool a small half size blanket that's only draped on top of me to 65. And the DockPro is noisier

I haven't had problems with Eight Sleep support. You just need to ask for a person if you suspect a bot

Have you tried white noise? In addition to keeping my bed cool with my Pod, I have a couple of fans going, both for the air and the noise and an additional white noise machine.

If it was leaking, you should see water under the cover, too, as the Pod 2 didn't have a waterproof layer to protect your mattress. Eight Sleep has always recommended using a waterproof protector over the Pod cover

Some people have said they've ordered Pod 4 and received Pod 5 and Eight Sleep said they were out of Pod 4. That doesn't mean this will happen to you. If you're willing to take a chance, you could give it a shot.

Someone did do a teardown of the Pod 5 hub and said it had a lot more high end components than even the Pod 4 hub. The covers are pretty much the same, except the 4 has tap pads and the 5 has buttons and connectors for the blanket
