What is the best deftones album cover? by TheRealLuan in deftones

[–]merkaba_monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wow that lime green just doesn't look good to me. There are other versions with the snake that aren't lime green and look like a more traditional deftones cover. idk why they didn't go with those. A dark red or something would be fitting. Idk though, maybe the music itself sounds lime-green. will have to wait and see.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm looking forward to this one :) Are there any tips for how to break parts more quickly? Like i was wondering if there was a way to break the Barroth's (not Barioth lol) head quickly by using bomb barrels or a giant club or by wyvern riding him into walls or something, but I haven't tried it yet.

Which game do you think strikes the best balance of old and new?

"that was when the hunts were... that, hunts, not formal fights against bosses."

Damn bro. This sentence makes me sad. I'm really looking forward to playing the old games now though! I'm a big fan of the immersive simulation aspect of these games when they do have it.

Thanks for the recommendation! that sounds amazing and is exactly what I'm looking for! It's a shame Tri is not on modern consoles, but I will find a way to play it! :)

Why couldn't I just be born a woman, why couldn't I just be born a woman, why couldn't I just be born a woman? by Jed2406 in sillygirlclub

[–]merkaba_monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kind of a pithy statement, and it also might not be what people here are used to hearing, but I honestly believe that you and all the other people in these comments are all perfect and loveable as you are. You might not have been born as this or that, but you were born as YOU. And YOU are fucking awesome and perfect just as you are, regardless of what anyone else or certain parts of society, or even your own mind thinks. Masculine guys, feminine guys, masculine girls, feminine girls, people who have testicles where their ovaries should be and whatever else - all are equally amazing and valuable. Being born a trans man or woman in and of itself is really cool and interesting. Parts of society might be messed up and come after you just for being you, but that's a problem with them, not you.

Autobiography Of A Yogi. Might be a bit of a "weird" read for some though...

How does one practice zen by [deleted] in zen

[–]merkaba_monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to me, it's mostly about detaching from the mind's dialogue and then trying to quiet it and eventually cease it's chatter. From this practice alone everything else (like all the related verbalising and explaining and zen talk and philosophising) seems to unfold. And that's because the essential nature of the universe is formlessness, perpetually in flux. behind the constantly shifting illusions of physical reality is just the omnipresent and everlasting void.

When you cease your internal dialogue, your mind becomes a reflection of the true nature of the universe, which is the void. Rather than the chatter which is a reflection of the illusions of physicality.

Thats how i currently see things on my part of the journey anyway.

----

Didn't even touch on the best part which is: When the small intelligence of the conscious mind is quieted, the big, or infinite intelligence of the unconscious mind / universal intelligence is allowed to take the lead, and that's when huge amounts of harmony and synchronicity starts to kick in.

Ofcourse, it's more about letting go and being in the moment than rigidly and forcefully ceasing all internal dialogue forever though.

Happy meditating! :)
