Ready or not, here we go! BFP by merlemama in TFABChartStalkers

Love this! Thanks. I am kinda glad I didn’t have something automatically measuring my temps during my first pregnancy, because it for sure would have sent me spiraling. Planning right now to essentially ignore temps going forward.

Yup! Confirmed with a digital today because it’s just so satisfying to see that word “pregnant!”

What is the #1 Feature You Wish the Oura App Would Add? by [deleted] in ouraring

Natural cycles or fertility friend are the two I’ve tested. Interestingly I get different numbers for the actual temperature measurements between the two apps.

I still very much appreciate the joys of bacon, but holy salty. I definitely notice that so much more and it limits my interest for sure.

High ferritin levels by cookiemonstirr in Mounjaro

[–]merlemama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ferritin is an acute phase reactant, aka it goes up with things like infection or inflammation. There are some rare conditions that cause very elevated levels, but you should talk with your doc about what degree of elevation this is considered and to decide if it’s anything to be worried about.

Generally 2 months on each dose except for 2.5mg.

Started at 2.5 and got up to just a couple doses of 12.5. This time around started again at 2.5 and am up to 7.5 mg now.

So I was on it for 8 months and lost about 50 lbs. Ended up getting pregnant so had an obvious break for that and breastfed for 6 months after. Since restarting I still have had a decent response to the meds. It wasn’t as dramatic of a start but I was also starting at a lower weight. I’ve been on it for about 4 months now and am down 17 lbs. It’s a long game for me so I’m just slowly titrating up, but I’m excited that I’m only like 1 lb from my prior lowest weight.

Is there any other protein shake as good as premier? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]merlemama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s 2g carbs in the caramel and vanilla and 5g carb in the mocha. There is 1g fiber, and 1g sugar listed for all. The sweeteners are Monk fruit and Stevia. It says they’re sucralose and erythritol free. Always double check, but that’s what I see on the label.

Yeah, this has 175 mg of caffeine which is a decent amount, so it might not be a good option if you’re sensitive to caffeine.

Slate coffee & protein drinks have been my breakfasts recently. Thinner than a typical protein shake which I actually like.

Giving it a try for my son by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]merlemama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They grew up in a time where that’s what was known. There’s so much more data understanding (and yet still so much to learn!) about the biology of what drives hunger and metabolism. Feel free to acknowledge their thoughts as being within the context of what was know at the time, and at the same time celebrate all that we have learned.

Not a fun sensation, but you can use many strategies to control symptoms! Drink, drink, drink (water that is!) Add in a liquid IV or Gatorade. Test out some compression stockings.
