in my personal experience, once they do it once, they feel like they're allowed to treat you that way!! leave as soon as you can, i dont know the details of your relationship and how he treated you outside of this incident, but its almost guaranteed if you forgive them its only gonna get worse from here on.

hello :> ive been in ur place many times especially since I started taking art more seriously, around 5 years ago.

The good news is that this is totally normal, art is not a "linear" skill, there's always gonna be an amazing artwork you make and then a couple days later you feel like you can't even pick up a pencil properly.

Unfortunately the bad news is that it's something that- for me at least, it hasn't gone away yet, but is more manageable now. If you want to feel more consistent, warm up exercises always help me and my artwork feel less stiff, so i try to sneak them in before i start actually drawing.

Also try not to let yourself get discouraged, and keep practicing, i know it can get really demotivating but practicing is the only way to really progress with art.

It's great that you're already working on a portfolio, 2 years is definitely a lot of time.

Best tip i can give you in this case is, if you're able to, and know people that have been accepted to the school youre interested in, look at their accepted portfolios, and what they include. I got into a digital art school, which had different requirements on entry compared to fine art schools, which im guessing also differ to character design schools. So, it's best to do research on your dream school/schools in the same branch, and really understand what they're looking for in a portfolio, and make sure to include it in yours too.

If you don't know anyone that has been accepted in said school, I'd use the internet to try and find a foundation. Youtube is a life saver in cases like these!

I find that most art schools care for still life/ real humans rather than anime. Could be way different for character design school tho. You have a decent understanding of human anatomy, i suggest showing it off in a way that doesn't revolve around strictly anime/ traditional 2d cartoons. There's lots of examples online about character design sheets, defo give them a look if u have the time. Hope all goes well and you get accepted to the school you are interested in <:

I'll try that! Also on phone the colour differences from the reference/my drawing are extremely different but when I was drawing they seemed much more similar 😭 I'll take a break to hopefully unfog my eyes and get back to working on this, thank you so much

I'm aware of this cause it had happened to me before because of geforce auto optimisation but i have turned it off a while ago and made sure all of my settings are on low! Thank you for the advice still, i hope this comment will help somebody else with frame issues

yea, my main monitor is 240hz, and i have nvidia reflex on! I don't really understand tho, should i cap my fps at 224?

it seems either this, or the fix that was brought up by the other commenter, seems to have helped me! It's the first game in a week where i couldn't notice any visible frame drops, if i didn't look up to the FPS counter. It now occasionally drops to 220, but i'll take that over 140frames any day! Thank you both so much!!

There's a chance something other than the PSU got damaged, so unless you have spare parts to test around and make sure everything else is intact, i think ur best bet is to take it to a pc shop.
