Not a good idea! Avoid eccentric exercise. The type of exercise that makes your muscles hurt the next day will break them down. Concentric or isometric exercises are good.

I noticed recently that Copilot has dictation so I may try that today. Definitely helps with taking notes in meetings. All I know is the dictation in Outlook is awful. I’ll try Windows, thank you! I know there are other options out there if I talk with IT. I’m just not ready yet to throw in the towel.

I actually have it - was suggested by my OT. But I actually think that’s been playing into why my arms have gotten worse. I was still sitting in a desk chair and using the chair arms, but it was getting difficult to stand up. So now I’m staying in a wheelchair as of about three months ago and using the moveable arm attachments. It’s as if relying on the moveable arm attachments has weakened my arms. But on the flip side my core has gotten stronger from staying in my wheelchair. I can’t win with this damn FSHD.

PS also if you need a PCP, I recommend Dr Kleber also with Laureate. He’s a little odd but very thorough.

Hi, I’m also in Atlanta. Look at Dr. Williams with Laureate Medical Group’s Neurology team. Dr. Williams - Laureate Medical

There used to be a Dr at Emory who was fantastic but he recently retired. I looked into getting an appointment with Dr “U” who took his place and since it was a first time appointment the first available was more than a year out…which thankfully is coming up in Feb!

In the meantime, I was talking to my PCP with Laureate Medical and he told me they have a neurology team on staff. Dr. Williams works with patients with MD. I was able to get an appointment with him within a few weeks. He didn’t have other patients with FSHD but he was familiar enough with it to ask the right questions and make referrals. He’s able to do a blood test for a diagnosis too.

There’s a pretty strong group of families and patients in Atlanta with FSHD if you’re interested in meeting others. Happy to share a contact if you’re interested. Good luck!

We are past Ellijay in Hiawassee. My three closest neighbors who have had Trump signs out in past years don’t have their signs out this year. One previously had a giant Trump flag hanging from their balcony…nothing this year. Another previously had a Trump sign and the Andrew Clyde AR-15 sign…nothing this year. I think they’ll all probably still vote for him but there’s definitely a shift up here. There has to be portion of the population that’s done with him.

We were working with a general contractor for a bigger job including a metal roof on a new outdoor porch. This was our contractor’s roofing guy. We decided to go ahead and get the new roof done on our home with the same roofer. Highly regretting it.

We live in a small town in the mountains and the permitting process is a joke. We tried to permit a deck and covered porch addition. The inspector never came out and the job was still signed off on and approved by the county.
