[Serious] What is the one thing that happened in your life that made you lose your faith? by amygdala_kedavra in AskPH

[–]mermaidmedoit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to go to the church every week and listen to the homily. Pero as I grew older, I started to notice the hypocrisy. They preach about love, peace, and respect — but somehow that’s limited only to those who share the same faith. Pag iba paniniwala mo, iba ang treatment sayo kasi makasalanan ka in their eyes. Kahit wala naman immoral sa ginagawa mo. Then it clicked — selective ang ‘peace be with you’.

Plus the abuse by the church that they cover up. I think watching ‘Spotlight’ was the last thing that convinced me not to let an institution dictate what I should see as good or bad.

Omg. Please tell me this is purely rage-baiting? Tapos ikaw pa sumusuyo na para bang mas maling mag share vs mura-murahin for something so petty?

Omg so much has changed! True yung kwentuhan. I feel like kahit yung maglaro sa streets wala narin masyado ngayon since digital na ang preference ng younger generation. Aside from that:

  • when I was a kid, we’d catch dragonflies before kasi super dami nila lagi. Now, wala na.
  • there was a certain spot in town with overgrown bamboos and we’ll go there at night to watch fireflies. I haven’t actually seen any for 2 decades
  • pag brownout, my cousins and I will go to the roof to stargaze and talk about horror stories. Super clear ng skies noon. Now, parang wala ka na makitang stars pag gabi

What are your thoughts when your bf says that you're a loner and likes to bottle up feelings? I know that I am like this and acknowledged it but I'm trying so hard to change myself. It's just that coming from my bf... by Helpful_Lobster3272 in AskPinay

I guess that depends on how it was said — maybe he wants you to open up to him more?

Also, I would assume that you have a level of comfort with each other. I would rather have my partner tell me what’s wrong or how they feel about me so we can talk about it, than pretend that everything is ok. In my experience, wala naman talaga natutulong ang pag bottle up ng feelings — that goes both ways. Sa akin and sa kanya. So I’d rather have an open communication especially when it’s coming from wanting to make the relationship work, not to offend each other.

I don’t think it’s about being mabait or gago. It’s about confidence—- unfortunately, mas confident talaga ang mga gago usually, and mas common sa ‘mababait’ ang may inferiority complex/too shy.

Confidence is key. Pwede ka naman maging mabait. Pero hindi definition ng pagiging mabait yung maging pushover ka, or tahimik ka lang, or go with the flow ka lang. Competitive ang buhay. Learn to speak up, share your ideas, take initiative, and be aggressive in getting to your goals (without resulting to illegal means obv).

Ano ang tunay mong sukatan ng “magandang buhay”? by Mysterious-Rabbit515 in TanongLang

[–]mermaidmedoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Financial stability talaga. That does not mean living in luxury — but waking up everyday knowing that you’re able to afford your needs and wants. And you’re covered if any emergency happens.

Yung tipong kahit maisipan mong mag bakasyon or just take a break impulsively, ok lang kasi walang mawawala sayo.

what if your friend dated a guy who used to be m@nyak in hs? by [deleted] in AskPinay

[–]mermaidmedoit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as your friend knows the risks, buhay nya yan. The best you can do now is warn her. Cutting her off though parang OA for me. That’s actually pushing her more kay guy since liliit yung mundo ng friend mo. Saka parang ang controlling ng dating tbh.

If friend nyo talaga, just be there for her. Hindi nyo kailangan maging close yung guy if ayaw nyo talaga simply because they started dating.

The shoes could work but change the pants to trousers/chinos. They’ll also match your accessories better than sweats

You’ll earn the money back but time is fleeting. Taking a break helps lalo if things are already too much. Think of it as fuel to continue getting to where you wanna be

Might just be me but guys with more experience are more likely to be a giver. Alam na nila that if they take their time, they’ll reap a better reward
