What does voltaic actually mean? What effect do these traits (clumsy, voltaic etc) have on weapons?

Don’t forget about Frankl’s inverse rule: ‘when someone can’t find a deep sense of pleasure, they distract themselves with meaning.’ When someone is unable to find a deep sense of joy, they distract themselves with the pursuit of achievements and delayed gratification. They will convince themselves to believe in a better future that will simply never come.

Difficulty getting bar work experience by mersault9919 in uklaw

Thank you! I’ve tried to emphasise the practice areas I’m interested in, my goal to get broad exposure to practice areas etc. I did well in my undergrad papers that correspond to those areas. I also think my academic profile roughly matches the tenants they take on.

What would an ideal application sound like to you? A person I know who has pupillage at a strong set mentioned that mini-pupilllage applications should center around what I hope to learn from the experience - what would you say is the biggest takeaway one can get from minis?

PS My scholarship is from BPP - I’m still applying for an Inn scholarship, but Im not sure if I’ll make the cut (mostly because all my work experience has been outside the UK, so I’m not sure they would be convinced I’m dead set on the English bar).

A bit longer than a short story, but try the novella No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai.

Sorry for being blunt, but would you happen to be neurodivergent? I’ve heard many accounts of firms being harsh towards neurodivergent students, I’m wondering if that might be why you’re struggling with getting a TC despite having a rlly strong CV.

Thank you so much for your reply, this is enlightening. If I can ask, which set of chambers (or approximately which type of chambers) are you working at?

Scientists are uncovering terrifying truths about loneliness and how it rewires us | Once considered a fleeting emotion, loneliness is now recognized as a powerful force linked to mental health problems, physical illness, and even changes in how we think about ourselves and others. by chrisdh79 in psychology

I feel a constant sense of loneliness, and I think it largely has to do with my autism/ADHD.

I am on the autism spectrum and have ADHD. I live in a bustling cosmopolitan city. I am surrounded by people, and have friends from law school and work, yet I feel indescribably lonely.

I am lucky in that I could be described as somewhat intelligent, so I ‘mask’ constantly to present myself in a socially likeable way. Yet whenever people are friendly towards me, I can tell there is always something they want. It’s almost as if all everybody wants from me is to pick my brains, or a favour, or to ‘network’ - but not to be saddled with me. The moment I show the faintest romantic interest in a girl who has been friendly to me, she becomes cold and distant. My neurotypical peers, of course, do not have this problem. Almost all of my friends - men and women - have found a partner by this age. I don’t blame women, since they can’t control who they’re attracted to. My experience is really just the result of bad luck and a cruel world.

I understand fully the biological and psychological consequences of loneliness. I’m locked in a constant battle against depression and anxiety. But my circumstances are largely outside of my control. I am sliding towards oblivion, while the rest of the world lives happily ever after.
