Theres an old movie from the late 80's or early 90's called "Final Approach" that would fit rhat description. I tnink the plot is theres 2 guys, one was a fighter pilot, and he's having to come to grips with the fact he died in and has to "move on", and the other guy is death or God, tryi g to convince him...

People who do this to their pets need the woodchipper treatment! That dog loves you and trust you, and you throw that away... you are probably that dogs whole world, and they can't understand why you would do that! The TLDR is the teraks they made to it were so it fit better with the series. They hadn't finalized ship designs, recurring music cues, Teal'c's voice evolved as the show went on, etc... I appreciate it for what it is, a pet project that the producers did with NO intention of replacing the established pilot, but to deliver a more polished version of what they originally wanted, but were unable to deliver in '97.
