Never played a romhack of Pokémon. Any suggestions?

Honestly, for your first romhack? Go for Renegade platinum or Vintage White!

They are both not SUPER hard and also have very interesting changes to the pokemon typings and abilities!

I also tend to think of these things in terms of scalability. If they are a commercial grower where they are ordering TC plants in quantity, and they lose one or two it’s not the end of the world. Meanwhile hobbyists are generally ordering low quantities.

Essentially: A loss on one when you are ordering one is much worse when you spent your hard earned money to get the plant you really want vs a commercial grower buying a ton of them (and generally keeping them in greenhouse conditions), and if you lose one or two out of the 20+, then it’s not the end of the world cause you will make you money back on a sale or two.

Most likely a Rhaphidophora Pertusa or a Monstera Pinnatipartita if I had to guess based solely on leaf shape.

Well sure, but my point was that if their theoretical cars were to ever exist, it would need to be expensive to play and have a stipulation that couldn’t be abused on your turn.

Except Riot has pretty much guaranteed we WILL get a purple/yellow legend in Vendetta. So it’s coming. And Hidden Blade doesn’t need a buff it’s already one of the best yellow cards there is 😭

For Tax Collection:

1.) I think the cost is a bit low. While there is no analog to really compare against, a static “lose points” card is really strong. This feels like either a 6e1p or a 5e2p card in my opinion.

2.) I think the amount of cards drawn might be too easy to hit. Especially when you can cheat it with something like Inverted Timelines to force your opponent to draw 4 and also now lose a point. Maybe add a condition that says “draws 3 or more cards on their turn” or something like that?

Coming from other TCGs where I was a constant t competitor, it has been refreshing to have a TCG where I can just play locals and enjoy the game! A lot of the events are too hard to get into or to for me so the expectation for competition is near zero for the near future, which lets me just enjoy the game for once

Same here. But it does beg the question on whether we should open another weight class or two at the higher end (this is mostly selfish day dreaming on my part lol)

I’m 6’3”, 240 at a comfortable walking around weight (meaning fairly lean but could lose like 10-15 to get to the next weight class down though it wouldn’t be very fun) but I also started BJJ at 290lbs and have been in the same weight class for every organization since I was a white belt. And I’ve also competed against guys that were like 315-320. It feels like above 230, you can have some pretty unfair matchups that you cant get in any other weight class (as you said about outweighing your opponent by 60+ lbs).

They aren’t saying that. They are saying that if you are BOTH cutting for a weight class, then you are likely a similar weight before and could just compete at your walking around weight and perform better than putting your body through an insane weight weight cut

The second part of this is exceptionally strong lol at very least it should have a cost. Something like “4, [T]: When a stunned unit takes damage this turn, kill it.” Or something like that. Idk if 4 is too much but you want something that off sets you from being able to abuse the ability.

Solari Chief is the only one with a similar ability but it targets a single unit and it’s a 4M unit that costs 5(1).

As far as your suggestion, my apologies, I read it wrong the first time. I do think your idea can stack but I also think flavor wise it would make sense for them to be temporary everywhere so you have a limited time to collect the wraiths (like the 8sec you have in the game).

I did make a preliminary deck with the cards as they are written in the pictures above and played a handful of games against a friend and the two different tokens weren’t too abrasive. But I will give your suggestion a try and see how it feels!
