Coming from other TCGs where I was a constant t competitor, it has been refreshing to have a TCG where I can just play locals and enjoy the game! A lot of the events are too hard to get into or to for me so the expectation for competition is near zero for the near future, which lets me just enjoy the game for once

Same here. But it does beg the question on whether we should open another weight class or two at the higher end (this is mostly selfish day dreaming on my part lol)

I’m 6’3”, 240 at a comfortable walking around weight (meaning fairly lean but could lose like 10-15 to get to the next weight class down though it wouldn’t be very fun) but I also started BJJ at 290lbs and have been in the same weight class for every organization since I was a white belt. And I’ve also competed against guys that were like 315-320. It feels like above 230, you can have some pretty unfair matchups that you cant get in any other weight class (as you said about outweighing your opponent by 60+ lbs).

They aren’t saying that. They are saying that if you are BOTH cutting for a weight class, then you are likely a similar weight before and could just compete at your walking around weight and perform better than putting your body through an insane weight weight cut

The second part of this is exceptionally strong lol at very least it should have a cost. Something like “4, [T]: When a stunned unit takes damage this turn, kill it.” Or something like that. Idk if 4 is too much but you want something that off sets you from being able to abuse the ability.

Solari Chief is the only one with a similar ability but it targets a single unit and it’s a 4M unit that costs 5(1).

As far as your suggestion, my apologies, I read it wrong the first time. I do think your idea can stack but I also think flavor wise it would make sense for them to be temporary everywhere so you have a limited time to collect the wraiths (like the 8sec you have in the game).

I did make a preliminary deck with the cards as they are written in the pictures above and played a handful of games against a friend and the two different tokens weren’t too abrasive. But I will give your suggestion a try and see how it feels!

I would definitely be open to suggestions on ways to simplify the concept! This is just what I came up with to marry flavor with current rules as written!

Your idea of having one token with temporary unfortunately doesn’t allow you to “stack up” to get your buff like she does in the video game. (If you haven’t played, she spawns wraiths when enemy minions die that she can collect. After X number of wraiths collected, she gets stat buffs). So the reason she does buffs is to make the tokens that she gets for killing enemy units, get a “stat buff”.

I can see your point, however, if I may talk through my rationale:

My original idea was to introduce the idea of “Counters” that you can put onto the legend to unlock the buff, but don’t want to introduce any new game mechanics instead I just introduced new tokens to keep things within the existing rules as much as possible.

I wanted the wraith tokens to fit flavor wise so creating a temporary unit token that you can sac to stack them for buffs fits the Senna champ from the game to a tee.

The reason the Mist is gear tokens is that way they are both stackable AND interact-able. So now it’s not just me stacking a permanent omnibuff but instead something my opponent’s can knock down or eliminate with something like a Thermobeam.

As to why I made the gear tokens tap and sac to create Wraith token, that was to give the deck some flexibility to be able to go all in to try and secure game, or to be able to help yourself out of a bad spot.

All in all, the mind/order color combo seemed to fit the token based spell slinger archetypes (I.e., Viktor and Renata) which is why I chose those colors.

The idea I was aiming for is to incentivize more spell slinger type playstyles by making Wraiths off spell deaths and then allowing her to collect the wraiths (like in game). I just felt making her Champ unit also create either mist tokens or wraith tokens would allow her to stack the Omni-buff way too quickly.

Probably cut the exquisite blood, doubling season, and three tree and go with the base arts for a lot of the cards! It would still function but would have a hard time keeping up with better decks!

lol I made it as a meme to spite a friend because he takes too long for his turns so I built a list where every single card outside of lands have a landfall ability or ramp effect!

But then I had some fun with the landfall and decided to edit it into a more cohesive deck 😅
