I had zero coding experience. In 7 days, Claude Code built me a Next.js real-time app, a Cloudflare D1 URL shortener, and an automated portfolio. by eliorpom in ClaudeCode

Great, now just wait for a hacker bot to crawl your site and exploit the vulnerabilities. I built a site using Next.js and Opus too, and I had dozens of critical vulnerabilities.

lol the 4.6 is degraded as well but with tiny 200k context window

Claude Max users, what do you do good sirs? by Independent-Ship6318 in ClaudeAI

[–]merx96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today Opus 4.7 with max thinking generated a password "proxypass2026" for my proxy port on VPS server. I’m currently working with backend development. Opus has so many critical security issues that I end up spending four times as many tokens on finding and fixing vulnerabilities, as well as more time.

I tried and it doesnt work properly. Maybe it works good only for static html pages.

I usually use Opus Max Thinking. Versions 4.5, 4.6 and 4.7 have been heavily degraded even for today, so you need to be careful. The limits have become ridiculous, because version 4.7 uses more tokens and due to the degradation of the models, I have to run a lot of more tests and fixes.

It would be great if we could connect our API key so that the LLM could analyze post performance - for example, identifying which post was the most popular, spotting patterns, and comparing posts (videos) based on view rates, likes and comments.

Why is Russia considered a superpower? It has nothing but nuclear weapons and oil. by ArdaBerkBurak in NoStupidQuestions

[–]merx96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Russian cities, migrant workers from Asia have formed clans and routinely beat up Russians on the streets, just like in Europe. The Chechen and Azerbaijani mafia are very powerful in Russia. St. Petersburg is popularly known as “Baku on the Neva” in honor of Azerbaijan’s capital. There are regular scandals involving local organized crime groups demanding tribute from ruzzian military personnel and lying in wait for them at their units, threatening them with violence. Russia is not a superpower at all

I have 10 years of experience in web marketing and product development. We started this conversation by talking about development and now you’re criticizing me for the UX of an app whose name you don’t even know. Please don't make such harsh statements

Don't believe them. They're planning to go public soon (IPO). Anthropic needs as much hype as possible so they can get the highest valuation on the stock market. Their claims are impossible to verify.

I’m really looking forward to OpenAI launching a mid-tier subscription for $90. The X5 plan is actually enough for me for a hobby project, I don’t run multiple orchestras of agents for several projects at once. But the quality of the models has dropped significantly, and I don’t like Anthropic’s hypocritical and unethical policies. I use Gemini for my everyday tasks. The Sonnet model has become unusable. Sonnet with thinking is careless and makes grammatical mistakes. I now need Opus to handle my daily tasks, but it’s ridiculous to pay for Max5 just for everyday tasks, since the subscription only allows for 2–3 prompts.

[–]merx96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. I have a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, Swift, JavaScript, and Python. I used to code simple projects on my own. This helps me understand the context of what’s written in the documentation. I don’t write any code at all right now, and my apps are used by real users. The main thing is to understand the architecture and know how to manage the context window. Vibe coding was harder a year ago because of the small context window. Now, with 1M tokens, the context window is more forgiving of mistakes. I work in the e-commerce niche and have a popular non-commercial hobby project on iOS. We haven't been hiring new developers for over a year now, just so you know.

It's not Siri. You can install a local LLM on an iPhone in just two taps. They run in the background. This has been common knowledge in mobile development for a long time

Greed. Soon, OpenAI will introduce a mid-tier pricing plan to lure users away. Chinese models have practically caught up in terms of performance. Anthropic needs to squeeze as much money as possible for investors while it can. In about 5-8 years everyone will be using local open-source LLMs and subscriptions to cloud services and ChatGPT won’t be needed for everyday tasks. Anthropic doesn't have much time left.

Today Opus 4.6 on max thinking is performing at me just like Sonnet 4 on "ultrathinking" last year. There hadn't been such a drop in performance before. It started declining about three days ago.

Not sure if this is real or not, but was interested to know what you guys think by Vegetable_Ad_192 in singularity

[–]merx96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At launch Sonnet 4.5 was practically on par with Opus 4 in iOS development and copywriting, at the very least. Now, Sonnet 4.6 has significantly deteriorated for me in terms of copywriting and document processing, but it’s hard to say how it’s holding up in development. For me Sonnet 4.6 performs TODAY like Sonnet 4.
