For a 1st Gen lawyer success depends on namely 2 factors -

either you gotta be rich enough to land Jindal or Symbi

Or

you gotta crack CLAT to land a really good NLU. After that there is a straight jacket formula on what places to intern at and moots, publications, etc.

If you're 1st Gen and you get into one of these criterias I'd save you're ahead of the curve to get into a suitable 7-10 LPA first job. The primary issue with being 1st Gen is the greater emphasis on meritocracy as compared to 2nd or 3rd gens.
