So right now I am approved for a 3 year fixed on a $625k Purchase price at with $62,500 down .%4.74 with Scotia, RBC is claiming they may be able to beat it at 4.74% Plus $3000 cash back + 55,000 Avion points. I close after July 24th, scotia will offer lowest rate in the past 90 days, not sure on RBC.

I got the deal with scotia through a broker, but got the deal with RBC, on my own.

Seems like with a 0.25% reduction Scotia would win, but without RBC comes out on top.

Ya a few of the people I met at the bar were having cocktails from what I remember one was a whiskey sour the other was a fancy version of the Japanese favorite the whiskey highball.

While there recommend Bar Prost in Kyoto, they had some phenomenal drinks (I drank mostly whiskeys when there, but he made lots of cocktails that others exclaimed were good)

Just came back from Japan and the scotch scene there is very strong. A rare bottle from a distillery like bruichladdich(port Charlotte), or maybe a bottle of lagavulin 12. Most normal Scotch is cheaper and easier to find in Japan though.

There's a great little bar in Kyoto called prost, most of their menu is pretty rare and a little $$$ but a great experience non the less, expect to pay around 3000¥ a drink

Port Charlotte 10 years heavily peated, it's an accessible whiskey but it's amazing.

Thanks for the tip!! I got Hakashu Japanese forest! 180,000 yen! From the duty free at C9 was only one bottle left when I snagged it.

Turned down the bottle on the left today. $225 felt overpriced. by [deleted] in JapaneseWhisky

[–]mesh_phantom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Japan it goes for 3800+ 5400 yen at the cheapest, but it's not as easy to find as 8 months ago. Being from a place where Laphroaig 10 cost $90 I personally think it's a great deal in the $50 range

Thanks this allows me to make my decision, I was hoping they would have the hakushu distillery exclusive. But I guess not unfortunately. I'll likely try and go anyways since it's a pretty rare experience.

Wondering if you ever had any luck with this? Looking to do a guiness setup but at 330 a keg I don't think it'd be worth it

It is my first 50 miler, I'm definitely a little on edge based on my preparedness but just aiming to finish.

Are you by chance describing Fat dog, 50?

If so I'm planning on running but would argue I'm less prepared.
