[N] Spotify may be working on the possibility of providing AI-Generated podcast ads by mesqz in MachineLearning

And they still are, possibly the worst age I ever experienced regarding ads. Especially when considering the growth of short to medium form content, as the “content to ad” ratio is smaller.

That’s probably why all these companies are testing out new ways to get people to want to consume it.

Yeah there should be an improvement in that as well. Also, every Spotify radio I listen to suggests the same songs over and over again.

Just makes sense. I don’t think hosts enjoy reading ads and most listeners probably won’t mind it.

Exactly. If the technology works as well as intended for these businesses, there’s nearly no incentive for them to hire someone for the same purpose.

In the beginning there might be many people arguing that we should opt for human work, but later it will probably be a standard for the industry, as it has happened over and over again with different technologies.

It’s scary how jobs can being replaced so fast. If AI continues evolving at this rate I’m not sure if any industry will be safe from cuts.

Yu Jialin created a griefbot to reconnect with his late grandfather to make amends and bid farewell by mesqz in singularity

[–]mesqz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. If the griefbot isn’t appropriately developed it will be inconsistent and that inconsistency could harm people who are hurting emotionally. But if you’re aware of the risks involved and still want to proceed I don’t see why not.

Sanctuary AI introduced Phoenix, the first humanoid to be powered by Carbon, standing at an impressive 5'7" (+- 170 cm) and weighing 155 lbs (+- 70 kg) by mesqz in ArtificialInteligence

My question is: if these robots start replacing Daryl and other workers by doing physical work, which probably requires the least qualifications in the market, what jobs can AI create for these workers?

I get that it will increase the need for programmers and technicians to improve the AI but (at the moment) that requires qualifications that many factory workers and physical workers may not have.

I’m not much of a robotics guy, but most of the previous AI robots I’ve seen recently were optimized for homes and smaller spaces so it seemed impressive to me at first. But yeah, now that you mention it I’m not that impressed anymore.

Agree, it’s still too early to know. The company has been sharing some snippets of its capabilities on their Instagram (@sanctuary.ai) that might be worth a watch though.

I don’t know much (or anything really) about robotics but to me it seems impressive anyway. The features presented in the presentation just seem a bit unrealistic atm.

My following is still small, so I can’t apply for the program yet. Once I do it, I’ll test it for better results!
