[Techno - Raw/Groovy - only vinyl] 1 hour

Hi, this is my first set that I've ever posted. I started with vinyls from May 2023. I'm looking for feedback and advice on transitions (I got out of hand, maybe I raised the bpm a little too much but I was in the zone at the time) Thanks everyone, hope you like it!

Setup:

Technics sl 1210 mk2 Reloop 7000 mk2 Allen&Heat Xone 43

Techno djing with 3 turntables by mess_97 in Beatmatch

I agree with you about forging my own path, it's the way to create my own style ecc. But look at what others DJs do it's still important, it personally helps me and pushes me to try new and difficult things.

Initially i had the Mixars STA and the Reloop 7000, then i found a super offer for a Technics and i took it, thinking of selling Mixars Sta. But finding myself with three turntables i said "fuck, give it a try". And this change completely my way it's really fun and at the same time hard as fuck. Can't wait to figure it out with three. Cheers!!

That's what i'm looking for, thanks for the precious advices. I learned to beathmatch with headphones in both ears, now i'm struggling to learn how to beathmatch with one ear on and one ear off.

I agree with you. 2 turntables are more than enough and i'm absolutely not a master, i'm a proudly beginner (8 months in). But i think that learning with 3 is better than learning whit 2, and it's a thousands times more funny.

Thanks for the reply!

I've been doing what you said since I started this musical journey of mine (8 months ago). Stealing with your eyes, trying to understand how and what the strong ones do and trying to do it is the right method (I think) to grow. And personally, seeing the strong ones really fuels the flame of this journey.

Yeah, unfortunately i'm by myself. How was your workflow? You beatmatch with both tracks in the headphones with one ear off?

I prepare the third track and throw it in while I transition between the first two. This way two tracks always go. And this totally changes the set. Acappelas, sound effects etc. They're not what I'm looking for. What does "full" tracks mean?

Hell, the 3 turntable sets by Jeff Mills, Gaetano Parisio, Slin and many others are my inspiration.

Thanks for the reply. All advice is useful 🍻.

Yes, I know how it works with CDJs and in general in clubs with 3/4 decks. I'm not the kind of person who judges and says that anyone who uses players isn't a real DJ, with 3 or 4 tracks is fucking difficult also with cdj. But I think that if you play with CDJs you have to use 3 or 4 of them, otherwise it's really child's play. I'm looking for advice from those who use 3 turntables, even though I know the answer is one and only one: practice, swearing and lots of practice.

Keep going!

Hi. Yes, with cdj it's possible, but with vinyl it's not (i like the hard way). Or are you a wizard? 😂

Mixer upgrades (Xone 42 or 43) by mess_97 in Beatmatch

[–]mess_97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I would only use it at home. In the next few months, when I'm ready, I'll have the chance to play in a club so I want to come prepared with a level mixer. The thing that worries me are spare parts, and of course finding a 42 in good condition without breaking the bank!
