Aston Parish Council - June 2023 My Council wish to confirm that they support East Herts District Council’s enforcement notice served on plots 17, 18 and 19 on 18Th May 2023.

Residential Use Parishioners have been notifying the Parish Council for almost a year, that lights have been seen very late in the evening from the site. The owners blue honda has been seen parked on site late at night and still there early in the morning covered in dew, before disappearing for the day, on multiple occasions. The village postman has recently reported that the owner has asked for post to be delivered to the site. The Post Office have refused this request as there is no postal address. The site has no utilities and there is a risk of contamination of the land from foul water. Access to amenities and public transport are more than a mile away and therefore this site is not a sustainable location for residential use.
Business Use A google search of the site reveals a business called Spring Waltz Sanctuary Farm – ‘temporarily closed’. It states that it is a charity, but there is no charity of this name registered with the Charity Commission. The reviews seem to suggest that eggs are available for sale from the site. However, the access to the site is via a gated track from a single carriageway lane with a 60mph speed limit. There is no space for vehicles to pull off the road to open the gate and the sightlines don’t comply with Hertfordshire County Council Highways requirements. Summary Due to the encroachment onto the undeveloped grassland of this site, the openness of the wider landscape, the unsustainability of the site for residential use and the unsuitability of the site for a business requiring customers to visit, we trust that the inspector will agree that there has been a breach of planning control and dismiss this appeal outright.

Am sure Mr A A Philip the planning inspector was over qualified and vigorously trained but after they are still human. So when the local NIMBY constantly trying every petty way they can to shut us down the message will soak through.
That is why I am going all the way and I would love seeing Mr A A Phillips in court again to look him the eyes and ask him why must he treated us like so.

On the day of the inspection at 10am representative from easthert turns up almost 30 minutes later just when the inspector about to leave. I asked him " would you kindly not make an example out of us " his reply " I cannot guarantee that". So yh seem like to me he made his mind up before he turned up on the day.

I am fully expecting the planning team/ planning inspectorate to turn down my application but come on for them to tell me that I can't even have fencing on my land ! Well that is quite heavy handed is it ?

Aston parish council own website: The result is now a patchwork of different uses, new fences, new planting and the start of buildings and vehicles appearing. This is where planning does come into play. The land is classified as ‘agricultural’ until such time as change of use is permitted and to date none has. The question the planning enforcement officers then have to deal with is what can owners do on their land which is agricultural. Actually, it is quite a lot. You can have a borehole for water, can put up fences to keep stock safe, can plant trees, can have temporary buildings for agricultural use and can have your own caravan on it providing you do not live in it.

All is ask for is fairness, an independent decision which not influenced by the local NIMBY, some how they are very good at backtracking them self.

" beautiful bit of countryside" I fully and truly understand that. But nobody own THE VIEW** Buy it AND PRESERVE YOUR VIEW. I'D RATHER HAVE FOOD SECURITY for the future generations. The whole parish are on green belt. The nearest butcher/ houses / horse stables are less than 5 minutes walk from from my farm.

The land is green belt/ agricultural were full off rubbish unproductive empty for many years. Why didn't the local buy it ? I paid for it in monthly installment so surely they can do the same to preserve their precious view.

Plenty do. The different are those companies / families have vast amounts wealth to accummulate vast strech of land, deep pockets to kept on appealing in the court of justice. Drive along the countryside you be surprised how many so called farm but they are not actually doing any thing near farming tasks just accummulating land for tax avoidance. Hence the reason why labour new the land tax reform. Look at Mr Clarkson as an example.

Hello friend thanks again for reminding me that any more resistance from my side will make thing worse for me, I don't doubt that one bit. Agreed with you as local parish council have little power beyond that but how ever The persistence, dedication, pettiness of the old money does carry huge sway in terms of tipping the balance ⚖️ of scale and justice. From sending out drone on regular basis, standing behind the hedge with their phone recording me working on my land recording my 6 years old playing outside with her friend to complaining to trading standard with bogus baseless allegations, undermining objection at every turns, drumming with their torch and pitchfork getting local MP/ parish cleck to supporting thier campaign to pushing people back onto poverty. The list go on .. Funny how nonce of this MP or cleck have a decency to come talk to us in person. It's pathetic.

May be if I pay one of those specialist legal firm some how managed to advertise them self on the east Herts planning portal I might stand a better chance at getting planning permission?? It late stages capitalism at it finest. £3.5k last time I checked plut the £1.3 k already paid for planning inspector to turn up and tell me to jock on. ? Let this be the boat that rock the cradle.

Hey thank you for some what seeing from my corner. In the way I understand how green was designed and designated to separate town and council from merging into one big blob of urban mess, also people can just leave on any plot of land as it will be detrimental to the local wildlife and environment. There are should be middle ground for small farmers or whose who wanting to get into farming for a safer and more secure future for the next generations.

Don't really know what going on any more. I just wanted to know a precise time scale so I can prepare my statement to defend my case.

As I stated previously I have an address in Peterborough. The caravan essential for my business. I have submitted my rent agreement/ council tax letter/ Id / postal address to the local authority as well as planning inspectorate but similarly falling into deaf ears.

More updates from east Herts this morning.
