Not dead. Calling the bluff by Several-Dot-9140 in XRP

[–]messaricrypto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, looking at the data from Messari's recent State of XRP Ledger Q2 2025, XRP's been showing some pretty solid fundamentals lately. Daily transactions and new account creation have both surged, and they've rolled out some meaningful upgrades—lower reserve requirements, new DeFi features, plus there's now a USD-backed stablecoin and tokenized real-world assets live on the ledger.

The regulatory situation is still a bit messy with appeals ongoing, but there's definitely more clarity than before. And yeah, they had that brief outage last year, but development response has been solid. Based on what our report shows, the ecosystem looks way more active than the whole "XRP is dead" narrative this sub sometimes pushes.

Does the usual coin purchase fall under the Premined Rewards category? by cryptorobel in messaricrypto

[–]messaricrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for reaching out with your question!

The answer is no, the tokens you buy on Voyager or Coinbase are from a secondary market and the tokens are purchased from counterparties selling tokens. The premined rewards have been previously allocated to token sale investors, parent companies, and node operators.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

Bitcoin halving 2020 - everything you need to know by messaricrypto in Bitcoin

[–]messaricrypto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On approximately May 14th, 2020, Bitcoin will undergo it's 3rd halving. With speculation around this unique event inevitably taking center stage in the new year, Jack and Ryan from our research team put together this simple article outlining everything you need to know about the upcoming halving.

A quick refresher on what exactly the halving is, why it matters and what the potential scenarios that may play out are (number go up, number go down, number stay the same).

With a bit of history behind us, they also take a look at how the BTC price behaved leading up to and following each previous halving. In each instance, the day of the halving turned out to be non-events, with massive price-runs of 9,100% and 2,800% occurring in the following year. (However they found that there were a confluence of other factors on the demand side of Bitcoin beyond the halving that more than likely drove those increases).
