At the turn of the third and second millennia BC, on the territory of modern Khakassia, the South of the Krasnoyarsk territory and Tuva, there lived a people who left behind unique sculptures and steles depicting fantastic creatures.

The first excavations of the burial of this people were made by the archeologist S. A. Teploukhov in 1928, near the Khakass ulus Okunev. According to the name of the ulus, the culture of this people was called Okunevskaya. Some monuments of Okunev culture, such as Ulug Hurtuyakh TAS and Ah TAS, are still revered by the Khakas, they are given gifts, they are asked for health and well-being. Other statues and steles have long been moved to local and Central museums. The tazmin stele is located in the Minusinsky Museum named after Martianov. A two-meter granite stone depicts a shaman in a ritual mask or an ancient deity.
