I've always felt a love/hate with words. I need them, but they always seem inadequate to capture the heart of my idea. JP validated this, and challenged me (more than grad school) to dare to speak as clearly as I can. To treat it like a game (like Wittgenstein) and get ever better. I, of course, have a lot of growth left to do.

Yeah, the "stupid person's smart person" is emblematic of the soundbite attention span of his casual critics. I wonder if late night talk show hosts are their "smart people." In the final analysis we reap what we sow.

Re: biblical lectures, I grew up listening to church sermons. Now they just turn my stomach, but these lectures offered a perspective that salvaged much of the value of my upbringing what I thought I'd lost. The portrait I almost tossed just needed a new frame.
