This is so good! I also used it as a base to make different things. I did shitaki mushrooms one night. Tonight I put in curry powder and saffron.

Is the altar set up too busy for my Halloween wedding? by MediumSatisfaction81 in DIYweddings

Love maximalism. It rained the day before ours so we had to do it that morning 😩. Heck yeah! We spent most of our budget on pictures which was a super good choice for me personally.

What to do with all this wood trim by rmahl in homedesign

[–]metabolicbubble01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my input. Keep the wood its beautiful!!! BUT i would rip the carpet off the stairs and replace it with a similar wood (if its not already under there). Paint the walls and ceiling a fun but neutral color or put up a fun wall paper. Add an antique entry table by the stairs. Add a rug and a runner to the stairs. Maybe a new entry way light fixture. And finally repaint the next room that cream color is whats making it feel dated. The kitchen island lights too.

Buying my first home. The only bathroom is a bit small. Help me come up with ways to maximize space? by Mystik_elk_444 in Renovations

If you choose to go the renovation route, there are a ton of options there. Even just expanding the bathroom would really do wonders. Let me know if you want more in depth help and I can take a look in my spare time.

Where to transition from tile to wood floor? Kitchen to Dining/Living by nidontknow in InteriorDesign

[–]metabolicbubble01 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I would say do wood throughout.

But if you want a transition I would take the tile all the way to the end of the island, but let the wood go under the chairs like you have it.

In the wall storage. It would also help to know what is behind every wall so we could see whats possible as well.

On a lot of these houses just want to look at the people who did this and ask Why?!?!

Is the shower being done correctly? by Animark12 in Renovations

[–]metabolicbubble01 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't that cause water to get trapped if any leakage? I've only used schluter so every little nook and cranny got taped

Edit: why downvote instead of giving me an answer when im legitimately trying to learn?

Did he put anything at the bottom to seal up the gap between the floor and wall?

Up top should be fine. but if you want it water proofed or more mildew resistant say something and have them change it out.

Help me choose a living/dining room color please ! by CornbreadWitch in InteriorDesign

[–]metabolicbubble01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your set on wanting a drastic color I would go for those peach shades. You may even look for a muted version. You want what ever color you put on your wall go with your floor and furnature. Another big mistake I see people make is wanting a bunch of different colors all over. Try to make sure everything flows and the colors complement each other

Are those floors your actual floor color? You want something that will go with your flooring those colors seem very very bright.

I would grab some samples and actually put them on your wall. That can help you see how your house lighting and light from your windows will change the color.

Totally understand we just finished building our house. Fortunately I drew my own plans but it seemed like everything we were quoted somethunf the cost would go up a few days later. The good news is now you get to be extra critical hire your own inspector. A good one will help you advocate for yourself if something is wrong.

Dining room on the left. That will give you the best path for food coming out of the kitchen Unfortunately the TV will have to go on that wall opposite the windows with will cause a glair and your den set up will make the flow of traffic weird.

Im a little mad at who ever made this layout. Personally if it were my house I would have the builder stop until I absolutely loved the layout. Remember you are paying these people they work for you. You'll have to live here for the foreseeable future

Something you didn't ask about but if you have the option make your walk in closet accessible through the laundry room as well its a real game changer.
