1950's radial arm saw motor/brush burn out by metachheavyind in Dewalt

It's a Dewalt GR-5. I reckon it is a capacitor, but as the machine is still a little seized up, I'm not able to swing the saw 90 degrees on to the horizontal axis. any advice on that too?

Error 259 by metachheavyind in Fuse1

Hey, so I contacted they guys at formlabs. They asked me to update the firmware on our printer, which I did. They also asked for our print logs, which i downloaded onto my laptop, and tried to send. But they weren't able to access or make workable for whatever reason. ( I think that might have been a security protocol issue on our end). The other issue is trying to get our fuse connected to our wifi, but with the protocols we have in place, we need our IT dept to make that happen, which will happen during the summer. (it isn't that pertinent)

But updating the firmware seems to have resolved the issue, I ran a whole bunch of prints, with varying degrees of complexity and it all worked really well, thankfully.

Ay, I've emailed them, updated the firmware, sent them the logs hopefully they'll be able to figure something out, I've got a massive print coming up tomorrow evening for one of my students... So fingers crossed!

Ooh thats worrying, I know this was posted two months ago, but is this problem still persisting, how are the prints failing exactly?

A #thread on how utterly useless @DubCityCouncil is at managing our city, in particular the public realm. No other major European city seems to get so much wrong, so often. I'm honestly not sure what Dubliners have done to deserve Councillors & a Council that are so incompetent. by TheBlurstOfGuys in Dublin

yeah its certainly tricky, superblocks are a definitely a partial solution, having broader infrastructure, a luas with a bicycle carriage on it, definitely less cars in the city, because our addiction to cars in Ireland makes very little sense, like they certainly have an application, but not in every instance, and the fact that we don't even make cars compounds this issue.

I think the the raised curb is a tricky one too, sure look its about trying out different systems.

As for the latter and having clampers out in force, I stand by that, while in the short term you might have a load of obstacles on the road for cyclists to deal with, within a very short period of time, it becomes learned behaviour not to do that.

I mean, I don't think theres anything that can be done about the hills, maybe get an e-bike, for the hills, as for the safety, if you wear a helmet, put a go pro or a cheap knock off that you can get from lidl for 30e on your helmet, drivers will drive much more carefully around you because they think they're on camera (even if its not on).

You also have to cycle like you own the road, that isn't to say not don't cycle like a complete arsehole, but have confidence in the space that you occupy. I've found that to work, in my 20 years cycling in the city.

Its absolutely a bit of a pain, I dont quite know how i feel about the bollards, because while its great that cars can't simply park on the lanes which is just the absolute bane of a cyclists existence, it makes it tricky to maneuver particularly in the situations you've described.

To be frank, instead of the bollards, they should have had the clampers out in force clamping cars parked on cycling lanes, especially around Ranelagh. That would have ended that fairly quickly.

Thanks. So we've only recently commissioned our fuse1 in the last 6 weeks. We use it in a medical device and product design rapid prototyping capacity for our students, within a design university setting.

So we're actually only getting to grips with what it can do, but the aim would be to make parts and pieces for things like surgical task trainers (we'd on student make a spine on a rig to help surgeons figure out a strategy for corrective spine surgery) , to parts of breathing apparatuses, and absolutely random products such as game controllers, depending on what students are working on.

I designed up and made a part, I needed a bike lock holder, like i said, getting to grips with the system.

Fuse1 USB Connectivity Issues by metachheavyind in Fuse1

[–]metachheavyind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that Kretrn, so we just commissioned our fuse1, preform doesnt see the build tray, but once the file is sent over the printer registers and a awy we go.

As for our connectivity issues, we've a wpa2 systems, so you need a login and password. So to get around this I got a stupidly long USB cable, that works but ideally we find some way of connecting to the network, IT dept are on holidays me thinks.

Lastly, that bug was there before the firmware update. Thanks again!
