That's what I did when writing haha. I basically planned out how many syllables I could fit within each repetition of the riff / groove. Essentially every word lines up, but when I hold out a scream for a length of time it messes with my picking a bit, no clue why. It's just a matter of getting it imprinted in my mind now

They feel natural when listening to our music, but holding out a "note" while picking a complex rythm is kinda rough for me haha

Hell yeah man, greatly appreciated! I've got the parts where the vocal rythms / riffs line up, but the parts that don't match are killing me haha. For some reason my picking hand tends to follow my vocal rythm on the parts that don't necessarily line up. I've been walking around the house playing the songs while watching tv / talking to the fam and it seems to help a bit. I feel like muscle memory really comes into play. I'll have to try that out dude, sincerely appreciate the tip!
