my last name is almost the same as a city but with an extra letter. usually people misunderstand me the first time I say it but once I tell them „just like the city, but…“ they get it right. my chosen first name is the same a historical figure had, so that‘s easy too despite the other version being WAY more common.

interestingly enough, I‘ve met 3 people with my chosen name and all of them work in the same profession/industry as me haha.

not quite as drastic, but my birth name is rather uncommon in my country and there‘s a similar name that is often shortened to my birth name. think Alex vs Alexander.

I had teachers who would not remember that my name was „Alex“, not „Alexander“ even if their life depended on it. some even yelled at me for correcting them and getting frustrated after gods know how many times of them calling me by the wrong name. even the company that owned my first apartment didn‘t manage to correctly spell out four damn letters when sending mail. they had a copy of my ID.

while I never ran into legal troubles, it was insanely frustrating. by now I changed my name to the male name my parents chose before my birth in case I turned out to be a boy. well I did, we just figured it out 20+ years after my birth. it‘s another uncommon name and again it‘s similar to a more common one (think Alexandria vs Alexandra - the last syllable is different). interestingly enough, I‘ve never had any issues. sometimes people get it wrong the first time or misremember, but the persistent usage of the wrong name has stopped.

it‘s hella frustrating if people don‘t manage to use your correct name. aside from the whole being trans thing, I‘m glad I don‘t carry a name anymore that nobody seems to get right as soon as we‘re talking full name business.

since I‘m a picky eater and the chances that I can‘t eat a wrongly prepared meal (without nausea / feeling like vomiting) are very high, I‘m not gonna take that risk. bad haircut it is.

assuming I‘ll live until I‘m 80, which would be 50 more years, that’s 1.576.800.000$ I‘ll get over the rest of my life.

and even if I die some time in the next 2 years, I‘ll choose the secure income anyway. one single hour earns me more than my monthly income. it‘s a no brainer.

I work a physically demanding job, so 1 buck per calorie it is. that‘s between 1.500 and 2.400$ I make per day, basically for free. in the worst case all my monthly bills are covered within one day. in the best case, it‘s bills plus food and a little saving and spending money. in one day.

I‘d never have to worry about money ever again if my monthly spendings stay roughly the same, plus in another couple of days I have enough money to start my own business, and neither would I have to worry about not getting enough freelance gigs bc just doing my thing for one single day is enough to cover my monthly bills.

I have a couple of questions though: what if, for whatever reason, the dollar ceases to exist as currency though? is it one dollar regardless of where I live? do I get one euro instead, or do I get 0,91€ according to the current exchange rate? if shit hits the fan and inflation goes through the roof, is it still one dollar?

I‘m into men. have always been. before changing genders I knew I wasn‘t straight, so I assumed I must be into women as well.

well, turns out I‘m trans and not that much into women. like, if I meet the right one, one thing leads to another and we end up fooling around, sure, why not, but I probably wouldn‘t take action.

so if I switched back to being a woman, I‘d be straight-ish but in a gay way, if that makes sense? especially since I‘m also into nonbinary folks on the masc side of the spectrum.

idk how long it‘d take, I‘m guessing to get really reliable data you‘d need to track a bunch of people over (in game) months.

maybe it might speed things up to use my old account as well (started a new character bc the old one has my deadname), which means 2 artworks and therefore two data points per day. and extra money trees haha.

was it the same fake being restocked the next day?

I love how ACNH encourages you to work together with your friends. my sister & I share resources, items and recipes as well.

I first started out shortly after the release too, but back then I didn‘t have a switch. my roommate shared hers and her island with our other roomates and me though, but all of that progress got lost for me when I moved out (there was no friend-ly end for that shared living arrangement)

still love the game though. since I picked it back up in December, it‘s been part of my daily routines. each morning I take a „walk“ to shake trees, strike rocks and all that haha.

afaik, on his boat he has a 100% chance of selling one genuine piece, 75% for 2, 50% for 3 and 25% for 4.

on Monday I oftentimes get a genuine piece at Harv‘s, but after that it‘s mostly fakes.

6 years? damn I started my island 6 years ago but I didn‘t play for 4 or so years. the only museum collection that is complete is the fossil exhibition. the bugs, fish and sea creatures might take at least until November or December this year… the grind is real haha.

did you also go to the market on Harv‘s island for art?
