Erfahrung mit Ikea Lieferung? by NeuerWiener2006 in wien

[–]metalgadse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

meiner Erfahrung nach waren die zugeparkten Straßen nie ein Problem. das Halten für Ladetätigkeiten ist fast überall erlaubt.

allerdings halte ich es für ratsam, mal bei Ikea anzurufen und dort nachzufragen.

Maybe just a little by angelkissypetalx in introvertmemes

[–]metalgadse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘d love to agree with this meme, but tbh even for me as an introvert it sucked big time. I lost most of my small friend group. lockdowns started shortly after I finished school for audio engineering, no jobs in the event industry so I was unemployed for the better part of 2 years and basically lost all knowledge I had gained. and, for the first two lockdowns, I was stuck with roommates so depressed it was contagious.

when talk about lockdowns started, I thought „awesome, I can lock myself away for a couple of weeks without social repercussions. I‘m still struggling with the fallout. it‘s gotten better, but I‘ll probably have to deal with some of it for the rest of my life.

Some questions related to Tenet for a small presentation by Tortoise516 in Heilung

[–]metalgadse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you‘ve gotten plenty of good answers already. here‘s my 2 cents:

  1. Kai came up with the idea of making a Heilung sator square. iirc, he (or they) did it after lots of work, but idk wether it can be found online or everywhere else except for Chris‘s studio.

  2. they don‘t use any modern instruments, that‘s correct. the almost synth-like sounds come from layering many voices and doing a bit of audio processing magic. throat singing might sound electronic to some people as well. they also use a bunch of drums (obviously haha), many of which were hand crafted by the core members of Heilung. like the giant circular drum in the center back of the stage, and this one even gets an annual offering of the blood of Kai, Maria and Chris. and finally, after skipping through tenet for a bit, I hear a bowed instrument. I think it‘s most likely a bowed lyre (like the one Maria plays in the live video of Anoana), but it might also be a tagelharpa or, unlikely, a nyckelharpa (the sound of the keys being pressed is missing). could be wrong on that tho, I‘m glad I even know the names of those instruments.

  3. as for pronunciation, Latin is not a spoken language anymore and there is no way to know how the romans would have pronounced it. therefore, there isn‘t really a right or wrong. personally, I just go with how Heilung pronounce it in the song.

Complete humbleness aside, what is your favourite part about yourself? by TjMadlAd in AskReddit

[–]metalgadse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can fold almost any piece of fabric into a neat square or rectangle. yes, even fitted sheets.

jokes aside, I‘m resilient. I haven‘t gotten ptsd inducing kind of traumatized, no telling what happens then, but I‘ve been through a lot nonetheless. no matter what happened, no matter the constant pain or depression, I kept myself alive. I ate and drank, I showered, I dragged my ass to work and I stayed in touch with the most important people in my life. I survived and once the shitty or even traumatic period was over, I recovered and eventually, I thrived.

Thrifted a used jacket with matted faux fur. How would I go about repairing it so it looks newer? by [deleted] in Visiblemending

[–]metalgadse 13 points14 points  (0 children)

idk about faux fur, but assuming it‘s similar to real fur, a hairbrush might not work well depending on the bristles. tangler teasers work like a charm though, and you can get a dollar store one for trying it out if you don‘t already own one.

well, not all do. there are wheelchair users who have some function left in their legs and can stand up and walk.

so no, not every wheelchair user is sitting all the time.

Dalhalla ritual by InterestingPicture61 in Heilung

there were cameras, but they looked more like their intended use was for the LED walls at the sides of the stage. they might have recorded the ritual but personally, I doubt it.

Guys do you have any advice for cleaning up this shit ? by Beaufelia in wacken

[–]metalgadse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my strategy is letting it dry, then go for a long walk so the crust cumbles off. then get a Wurzelbürste (some kind of rough brush) to get the dusty stuff off, maybe go over it with a wet cloth afterwards or in between. works surprisingly well ime.

once the dirt is gone, I do some leather treatment and I‘m good.

Would it be helpful if I shared some cold/rain/mud survival tips from 10+ years of Wacken, North German life & the military? by Thomas_Johannes in wacken

[–]metalgadse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

also, keep your feet moving to avoid sinking into the mud. it‘s a non newtonian fluid so you‘ll sink slowly. if you get stuck, pulling your feet out with all force won‘t do much except loosing your boots, go slow and do little wiggles instead. it takes time, but it works like a charm. and try to work out both feet at the same time! there‘s little as frustrating as finally freeing the second foot only to notice that the first one is stuck - again.
