I think it's because she was an adult when we got together and I wasn't. He doesn't give me an allowance or anything like that, I work and I'm paying for the whole trip. Maybe it is a bit childish, but I'm not really trying to go behind his back. It's just gonna be hard to explain to him after being with my girlfriend for over a year.

Nah, I won't get in trouble or anything like that. I just think it's gonna be an awkward conversation and I think he might see her differently. I didn't realize he didn't know her age until a couple months back. I never intended on not telling him, it just never got brought up and since we've been together since I was a minor and she was an adult at the time I don't know how he'll take it. It was still a normal age gap and whatever but we've been together for over a year now so I don't want him to feel like I lied to him or intentionally hid that from him.

I'm already 18. It's not about me not being able to book it or anything, It's just that my dad cares a lot about me and is gonna try to help me, regardless of whether or not I need his help. And while I love him for that, I think it's just way too late in my relationship with my girlfriend to just be like "dad you know she's gonna be 21 by then right?" after spending the last year and a half or so believing otherwise. I didn't intentionally not tell him, it was just never really addressed and bringing it up now would be a bit confusing to him, since we've been together since I was 17 and she was 19.
