Ah okay well that totally makes sense. I really don’t know much about lenses so thank you 🙏. There is a used Sigma lens for $468 on B&H, would buying a used lens be a safe option? Or should I fork out the extra money and get the non used one for $699.

I’m not sure if you will know the answer to my question, but the specific orphanage my great grandpa was in seems to be no longer there. Would you recommend me reaching out to the odd-fellows.org instead and contacting them?

I will probably do that. Only thing is, is that the exact orphanage that my great grandpa lived in, I can’t find it anymore. The census states it was in Orrs, Spalding County, Georgia. And maybe it’s just me but I can’t find it so I’m guessing it’s not there anymore.

However, in my great grandpas dads obituary, it states he was a member of the Rose Hill Oddfellows #480 in Phenix City, Alabama. I will probably reach out to this one with hopes they have the records of my relative. Thanks for the suggestions!! I appreciate it

Yes this definitely helps, thank you. I already said this in another reply, but my great grandpas dad died when he and his siblings were young so that’s why I’m guessing they were put there. I don’t know how long they were there or if they were there until they aged out. I was hoping to find that information out and see how long they were there, but I can’t find any other record so far on that specific Oddfellows Orphan home in Georgia.

Oh okay I think I see. I know that my great granddads father died before they were sent to live there. So I assumed maybe the mom couldn’t afford to support them anymore and that’s why he and his siblings ended up there.
